Pond Lehocky Disability attorney Andrea Burns wrote a column for Pennsylvania Law Weekly and Law.com dissecting How Covid-19 Threatened to Derail the Social Security Disability Backlog Progress.  Burn’s highlights that “in 2018, the average wait for a hearing decision was 591 days, which represented an increase of nearly 40% since 2010. By Michael J. Parker, Esq.  September 18, 2020 is a day that ended with the tragic news of the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Friday night announcement came while I was listening to a documentary of Former Texas Governor, Ann Richards, on YouTube. I would like to think that this activity is not abnormal for a forty something year old without any children. The jury is still out on that. Justice Ruth Ginsburg was a known feminist who also fervently fought for the equal protection for all Americans. She also believed that government must be fair to all Americans. Her advocacy fo ..read more

So, I knew of the magnanimous Congressman John Lewis, but I have come to realize since his passing that I had no idea exactly how prolific his fight for civil rights was. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. What one might not realize is that when you take a closer look at images of Dr. King and pivotal civil rights moments, you will notice a seemingly unassuming young man, who is often identified as Congressman John Lewis. John Robert Lewis—born outside Troy, Alabama on February 21, 1940—was an American politician and civil-rights leader who served in ..read more

The administration plans to use money from federal emergency coronavirus aid to foot the bill, which could run to several million dollars to cover 55 cents for millions of ballots. Wolf’s top elections official, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, said paying for the postage is a way to m ..read more
