Got a C2 in December and started my rowing journey. Still a long way to go. Trying to row for one hour 3 times a week. Drag factor 153.
Here are my wins so far: heart rate recovery is MUCH improved, I can sustain higher levels of heart activity for a longer period with out completely bonking. 14k in an hour was crazy talk. I love the concept2 virtual platform.
Can’t just row for the same pace same watt for the entire time I play games and mix in high energy intervals .

19F, 5 « 6 approx 65kg. Started rowing consistently at the end of January (Joined my Uni’s BC in October but had a rough first semester so only went to a few sessions). This was my first 2k from mid march. We haven’t done one since but we’ve just been told we have one this week. I have no idea what to aim for or how to approach it. Any tips/help would be appreciated<3

What factors make a club so dominant in the rowing world? Is it their coaching staff, the athletes that join a club, the equipment? I don't have any specific clubs in mind but I was just curious how some clubs are able to rank consistently year after year.

What is the best way for a cox to continue training during summer break. My son started out this year as the freshmen/novice cox, but only got to cox a couple of races (due to outside circumstances, not because of him - cancelled race, had to scratch the boat due to sick kid, etc.). The coxswain camps are out of our price range, but he would like to somehow do something over the summer before he returns in the Fall. Is there anything else he could do?

I am a new coach (first year) working with a boys Novice 8. We have been performing well but they have a hard time with staying strong through the finish. I want to help them this week prior to our last championship race. What drills can I do to help this? They need more layback but I don't want them to get stuck with the hands if I just suggest "more layback" lol. I'd rather have a drill they can translate to regular rowing. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Did this 2K about 2 weeks ago, and I have a 2K today. Training since then has been on the water, with the occasional short erg, so not really much extra training since then. Need to shave .7 seconds for the school record. I know pacing is sub-optimal and so is the rate. Any other suggestions/more specific recommendations to go 1 second faster?
Dont mind the HR, the device was dying through the piece.
Thanks for any and all advice.

What are your thoughts of reclassifying a boat after a state championship for a national regatta like stotes? I know Washington Liberty is taking their 1v sans a senior and racing it as a J8 at stotes and I was wondering if this is normal or kind of frowned upon. Thanks

I started with The Lunch Hour by Pete program , but am halving it. 40 pounds overweight, stopped road biking a few years ago, knees hurt, feel like sh*t. I know it's not impressive, but just starting back is an accomplishment for me.
