This past month has been really wonderful. Three friends had birthdays this past month, and celebrating with them was so nice. I have continued exploring the city, sometimes just walking around and taking pictures. It is so crazy how fast time has gone by! This has been such a great experience, I almost don't want it to end!  March 24-28th, A few friends and I went to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria for spring break. The weather was so nice! The beaches were beautiful, clear, blue water and the one closest to where we stayed even had dark sand. It was very relaxing and I had been missing the bea ..read more

Never did I ever think I'd be able to just pack my bag and hop on a quick flight to France. But that's exactly what I did. With nothing but an overnight pack, I hopped on a flight with 3 of my close friends. Together we hit all the hotspots of Paris. From the food, the sights, and the atmosphere, I loved it all! We landed and immediately hit up a local cafe where I had some delicious pastries! We then walked around and saw the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, and the Palace of Versailles. I had an amazing time and the weather was a nice 70ºF and sunny. In between our many photoshoots, we stopped for A ..read more

Hey Jaspers, Finn here. I have some exciting stories to tell you from the last several weeks of my study abroad journey.  I am currently writing to you from my dorm in Madrid, which I touched slightly on in my last post. This is home base, but I have been traveling around Europe this month and had a quick trip to Africa at the end of February.  On a trip to Rome at the beginning of February where I was visiting some old friends from high school, we started planning a trip to Morocco. Using a student travel company we booked our plane flights and they did the rest for us ..read more

Hello,  This past week was spring break for us here at AUR In Rome. I started my break on Friday and headed straight to stay with a friend from Manhattan College right outside of the city. Getting through the Airport was smooth and walked right through security. I still can't get over how minimal the lines are here!  I landed in Paris and it felt like a dream! I knew that Paris was a place I needed to visit while I was here. It was so amazing as soon as I got off the plane. However, as I was looking for my Uber driver he called me 3x telling me where he was in French. I kept t ..read more

Hello, This past weekend my flatmates and I went to Tirana, Albania. For those who may not know Albania is a amazing country located in Southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula, bordering the Mediterranean Sea. With Greece to the south and Montenegro to the Northwest. I began my journey in the capital which is called Tirana, exploring the Skanderbeg Square which was named after their National Hero. Here, it is surrounded by grand buildings and monuments, gaining insight of the entire city. I decided to go to the National History Museum, where you can trace Albania's past from ancie ..read more

The past few weeks have been very interesting. I have been exploring more of the city. My favorite areas so far are Malasaña and La Latina. Time is flying by!  February 16th, my friends and I went on a trip to Salamanca with a tour group. There were a lot of other students. Salamanca is known as the Golden City because of its sandstone buildings. Also, during the Second Spanish Civil War, Salamanca was the Nationalist capital. We learned a lot of different things about the city's history from a good tour guide. One interesting fact was that people used to sharpen knives on the walls, leav ..read more

Hi all,  It's me again! I hope all is well in New York or wherever you are reading from! This past weekend I was in Cagliari, Italy! Cagliari is located in the south of Sardinia, a little island off the coast of Italy!  We were blessed with warm weather and were able to go on a boat and sit on the beach for a while too! We saw flamingos and walked around the town!  First, we had a very early wake-up. Our day started at 4:30am! We took a train at 5am to get to the airport by 5:30am. I actually was very surprised when we got there the security line wait was only 2 min! Aft ..read more

These past few weeks have been really exciting!  On January 25th, we took a trip with our professor to Toledo, a town known for its swords. The views were beautiful. We visited a few cathedrals, mosques, and a synagogue. It has been really helpful to be able to see in person the sites that we are learning about in class.  January 28th, some friends and I visited the popular weekend flea market, El Rastro. It was packed with people! Apparently, some people go every weekend, not just to shop but also to socialize and catch up with friends. There were lots of cute things, from clo ..read more

Bona Nit,    Around noon we arrived in Sitges, a small town near Barcelona. It is such a cute artsy town filled with people in picturesque alleys, there was a thick, colorful carpet of confetti running from the train station down to the beach. We decided to stop at a bar to have Empanadas & Tapas before the carnival started. All around Sitges there was people in costumes walking up and down the seafront, watching football matches at the local pubs or eating lunch. Children were running around in costumes, playing with sparkles, confetti, water guns etc.   ..read more

Since Prague is a center city in Europe, it makes it so easy to travel to other locations! My first weekend trip outside of Prague was to Berlin. It's so great not having class on Friday, it gives me more time to explore other places. I boarded my bus 2:30am Friday morning with 5 of my friends in the pitch black and pouring rain. Not a good start to this trip. After a bus, a train, and a single hour of sleep, we arrived in Berlin! Things were off to a rough start but thankfully turned around after we got food and rest.  The first day we visited the Deutsches Spionage Museum where I learne ..read more
