So I have pre approval from two lenders, and a verified pre approval with another. I’m trying to use the VA loan and I’m having a hard time obtaining a “Statement of Service”. I have a house under contract now, can I send the purchase agreement to all 3 lenders and see who is able to ensure that I’m good to go ASAP. I want to close in May. Is there anything I can use in lieu of the “Statement of Service”. My CO is not available.
I’m trying to work with Veterans United, Navy Fed, and Rocket Mortgage to see who makes this the easiest & cheapest.

Hey everybody, I have a question as a father of my baby that’s on the way. I know I’m entitled to 12 weeks of parental leave and it can broken up however for a year after its birth. My question is that if parental leave starts after your child’s birth or can it be before? Like you take leave to go watch your child’s birth or does that have to be regular emergency leave?
And is there any requirements to take parental leave like proof of anything?

I’ve been using many of these resources for years and I just found out that most of the people I work with had no clue this was a thing, so I’m passing this along.
I’ve attached the link, but if you go to the My Navy Portal quick links page, find the one for “Navy MWR Digital Library.” From there you’ll have access to records from Ancestry.com, free ebooks through Libby (you can already use this with a local library card, but the DOD has a library card too you can add), tutor.com, and Morningstar (just to name a few).
The verification process is through your DOD ID and DOB, so you don’t need ..read more

Recognised the Peleliu emblem immediately, I was on her for the 15th MEU in 2008. It's a shame they took the original owners name off, looks like this dude had quite a career.
The one intact tag says "Crestor Inc, CA. 95045 USA" and gives grid coordinates 36°53'10"N, 121°34'35"W, which is some wilderness area southeast of San Jose. Any idea what that's about?

So I was having a conversation with my chief about our divisional outing this Friday. We are planning on having it our LPO’s house, everyone brings a little something to eat and drink, bunch of games, and everyone is going to have a good time.
As we were talking I asked about what kind of drinks she likes.
She says “what do you mean?” with a stern look.
“For the get-together, like what kind of beer do you drink?”
She snaps back “oh there will absolutely be no alcohol present at this social gathering.”
“Huh? Why not?”
“Because if someone decides to drink, leaves and gets a DUI then I get in tr ..read more

Throwaway account. I am afraid of coming to work and facing retaliation for seeking help.
For the past year, a DIVO in my department has been the definition of a "Golden Skate", and accomplished that by skating all over JOs. I have been documenting every instance of that. Some of the highlights:
Completely dropped the ball on an upcoming inspection. Department head ordered other JOs and Chiefs to essentially do most of the legwork.
Walked out on me on multiple occasions when I asked for information for reports that were due off-ship.
While his Chief occasionally helped me when the skate ..read more

Y'all are gunna hate this but it's just a description of my experience because we all know when we're nervous about our futures, no matter what anyone says, we look to reddit. When this was me couldn't find anything with great description and everyone on this sub is mean to people who make mistakes they consider stupid or unnecessary. Well shit happens.
So it went like this: was informed popped positive for something that wasn't marijuana. did NOT waive my rights and DID NOT MAKE A STATEMENT (if you just want to take the Land go to mast and take your discharge then this is a solid place to st ..read more
