Returning to Perth this March is a unique WA food event! WA’s Great Graze is a celebration of West Aussie produced food and drink through sharing platters with family and friends. The delish event is also a great big “thank you” to our hard-working farmers and producers for providing us with an incredible bounty of food.
WA’s Great Graze is hosting many events, as well as encouraging Perth foodies to platter it up at home, with West Aussie products. Plus, you can win a trip to the Southern Forests!
WA’s Great Graze has been created as a celebration of our state’s rich agriculture. Our state ..read more

The popularity of tiny cabin stays is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, slowing down is half the point of booking a tiny stay. Western Australia is now home to Unyoked, the eco-friendly and simple tiny cabins, that are found worldwide. Adventure seekers, Eco-warriors and people seeking a digital detox will all appreciate this spot. I well and truly fall into the last category.
It’s almost impossible to get by in 2023 without having a smartphone in your pocket beeping away for its attention. As well as having an online presence through my food and travel blog, my day job in Digital Ma ..read more

Almost four years to the day, after first falling for Gnarabup’s White Elephant Beach Cafe in 2019, I finally made it back to one of my all-time favourite brunch spots.
This trip to Margs was different. I swapped lazy lunches at leafy wineries, for rugged coastal terrain and lounging on sandy south-west beaches. Mr H and I were staying at the brand new Unyoked tiny cabin, so we just HAD to drop by White Ele for a brekkie (or two!).
I’m always blown away by the pretty as a picture seascapes in this region of WA. And especially that there aren’t many spots where you can dine by the sea. The in ..read more

If you follow my food and travel adventures over on Instagram, you will have seen my weekend getaway to one of the Heyscape tiny cabins in the Northern Valleys. Ever wanted taste of tiny house living, or to see what being off-grid would be like? A Heyscape escape will give you a taste. Their portable tiny homes are found at farms and vineyards within a couple of hours drive from Perth and south west Western Australia. Secluded tiny cabins are usually geared toward romantic couples’ getaways. Now, families can now enjoy a deep digital detox at their newest cabin “Ashleigh”, which is all about m ..read more

2014 was a time before global pandemics, and before top-tier hotels hit Perth. It was also the year that Ritz Carlton was announced to be opening at Elizabeth Quay. At the time, I excitedly envisioned a traditional afternoon tea at the Ritz – London style. Fast forward eight years and I was delighted to be invited in for a spot of “tea for two” by Ritz Carlton. It was high time that I experienced a decadent high tea at Ritz Carlton Perth.
While most spots in Perth hold high tea only on the weekend, you can book an afternoon tea at Ritz Carlton Perth any day of the week. What a wonderful way ..read more

The Perth Hills are awash with reds, oranges, yellows and glorious golds! My ‘hood Kalamunda is just beautiful at this time of year. Stirk Park is a fab spot for kicking up some leaves. Just up the road, be sure to visit the annual S&R Orchard Autumn Festival. The celebration of their stone fruit trees loosing their leaves is just stunning.
I popped along today for a sneak peek, before it opens for 3 weekends tomorrow (May 21st). The family-run stone fruit orchard opens its gates for fun and frolicking amongst the falling leaves of peach and nectarine trees. It’s a lovely place to find a ..read more

It has been a hot minute since I’ve had a night out in Northbridge. If getting an Uber late at night doesn’t really appeal, here’s a great solution… treat yo’self to a hotel room in the heart of Northbridge! I had a stickybeak around the Doubletree by Hilton Northbridge a couple of years ago, when it first opened. So, I knew before I stepped in from bustling James Street, that I could expect a quiet haven of modern luxury.
A city stay-cay at the Doubletree, with a grand total of 25 minutes travel time, was a perfect mid-week break for me. The hotel still has that shiny, new feel and is quite ..read more

“Bonjour mademoiselle”. From the moment we’re greeted at Nedlands stalwart, Chez Pierre, I know we are in safe hands. The restaurant is the embodiment of French sophistication, without any of the infamous Parisian attitude. The professional waitstaff are good humoured, and warmly show us to our seats, never skipping a beat with menus or drinks.
Since opening in 2007, Chez Pierre Perth has amassed a loyal local following. Chef and owner Pierre Ichallalene honed his craft at the famed Le Cordon Bleu cookery school in France. He has hospitality in his blood, with his parents running popular Perth ..read more

I love a cheffy brunch, something that promises much more than your average egg on toast, something that elevates typical breakfast dishes to another level. Local and Aesthetic, found at the quieter end of Mount Lawley’s Beaufort Street, is such a spot. Put it on your to do list.
The breezy café has oodles of space, good for 2022 , when you don’t really want to be sat on top of the people at the next table. There’s a small outdoor area, and a few comfy sofas if you prefer to drink your coffee Friends-style. And the coffees here are good. An award-winning Kaltiva local roast is used ..read more
