Hey guys,
Want to ask you on your opinion on fiber dampers. Im working as telecom tech and we use to use those on sites, as there was cisco switch in the same room. It makes sense to me that it might damage SFPs in long term. My boss agreed with TRM guys that we dont need to use them now. Fiber patch has 5m and from seitch to BB and without dampers light strenght was -1db. As i was calling with cisco guys, they told they wont configure port if the signal isnt -5,-6db.
Can some explain me more please, if its okay to dont use them? Thx

but telcodata.us doesn't have issue dates for blocks before 2002, anything older than that is only an annoying 00/00/0000

We have a mobile application where users can submit a call back request(by submitting two phone numbers->theirs and another user's) and get connected through a PSTN to PSTN call conferencing system. We are looking for a telecom operator who can receive those two said phone numbers and put them on a conference call and sent us back the call details after it is concluded all through API communication.
If you have expertise in researching and sourcing within the same industry, kindly contact me in the chat.

This is a CE-100T 8 Cisco module card. What would you guys say this is worth? I’ve seen online prices between 3-5k. Please let me know your thoughts.

I always imagined the dial-up modem in my home (20 years ago) paired with another modem at the ISP at the phone number I entered. But recently I learned the analog signal from my modem goes back to digital at the central office. Does that mean my modem is actually paired with a modem at the central office and not at my ISP? Definitely a basic question but Google isn’t helping. Thanks!

Dear Valued Professional,
I am writing to you with an important update concerning NEC’s Unified Communications business. Today we are announcing that we have formally made the decision to exit our on-premise UC business outside of Japan over the next few years.
This change applies to all of our on-premise UC products. Our NEC BLUE UCaaS offerings will not be affected by the exit process, where such products are currently available.
We understand how significant UC solutions are to your customers’ operations, and we will fulfill existing contractual obligations we have agreed with you to date ..read more

Hello Reddit!
I have a Telephone line running into my main computer area, and the goal is to have an Ethernet line following the same exact route. The ethernet line will run through an unsecured area, that is open to anyone. I need a way in order to prevent this cable from becoming cut, or tapped, as this cable will provide internet to the security system (vista 20p + LTE-IA, CCTV System, Access Control) and to prevent it from being unplugged at the main router connection. (LTE-IA is also connected to cellular for alarm monitoring)
I have had persons attempt to force their way into this room ..read more

I moved to the Hickman, NE area from Arkansas in the fall and my grandson signed me up for fiber with some internet provider. Once they installed my fiber the line has been unburied for months,,, My damn dog chewed the line once and it's also been mowed over and knocked the service out. When I talk to the folks on the phone, they say they can't bury the line because the ground is frozen. I understand what they are saying but how does anything else get done when the ground is frozen??? Like utility services that need to dig? Natural gas? Or even other fiber providers? Or what about when someon ..read more
