But I stopped using my c-pap because my apnea is pretty mild, but I’m unreasonably scared of getting some sort of infection from not cleaning enough. How often do y’all clean the tubing and everything? Bc I was originally told to do this daily and I’ll be honest, I struggle a lot with anxiety and depression and it’s a lot just to keep myself afloat with my 3 animals. Cleaning a cumbersome machine every day is just not gonna happen, I know myself. So…. Let me know? How often is actually necessary? I feel like I wanna give it another shot. I also struggled keeping it on all night bc I inevitabl ..read more

I have ADHD and OSA and my working memory is terrible even medicated... could it be from untreated OSA?

36/F, mild OSA (13 AHI in sleep study) for like eight years, only started CPAP two months ago. So yeah. I have ADHD, and I forget an insane amount of stuff. I literally can't have a five minute conversation without forgetting what I'm saying at least three times. Actually, I entirely forget the conversation. I can't even remember the general topic. Often, the person I'm talking to can't even jog my memory by repeating the last thing I said. I am aware that working memory is an issue with ADHD, but this seems a bit... extra, lol. And my diagnostician (DXed last year) said my ADHD is moderate ..read more

TLDR: Sleep doctor tells me my BMI & vaping is the reason I “don’t sleep well”. Hey all. I’ve had this problem for at least six months since I’ve started getting video evidence. I sleep sitting up. About 90% of the night EVERY night. I woke up one morning six months ago, feeling exhausted and not refreshed at all. I asked myself, how much do I toss and turn? Why am I always so exhausted? Of course I went to my primary doctor, who then sent me to an endocrinologist to see if it was related to my non-working pituitary gland. (A whole different story). The endocrinologist of course just told ..read more

Hey everyone, I’ve always been a fairly heavy snorer (especially on my back) and suffered with relative daytime fatigue (frequent napper, fall asleep watching tv, sometimes nodding off at my desk etc..), however i’ve never really thought too much of it up until recently. For the past 6 months I’ve been experiencing frequent night time awakenings that result in trips to the bathroom, combined with the most frustrating aspect in that I will wake up between 5-6am every single day and struggle to get back to sleep. Obviously this is frustrating and forcing me to go to bed much earlier than I woul ..read more

I am 43F with 3 children. I got the news today my AHI is 273. He said it's severe and I already go Monday night for them to do another study in the clinic with a CPAP. He said I've likely had this for over 10 years (how can they know this?). My main symptom was actually frequent urination at night. Being a mom to 3 I just assumed tired was a normal state now ?. Anyway, my dad died at 65 of a stretched out heart. He didn't even really have any health conditions and his blood pressure was fine. But I was told that his heart was enlarged and the walls were stretched out and there was no reason g ..read more

Last sleep study was at home 2021. They never changed anything. I’m fed up with my sleep doctor he’s useless. Found a good E.N.T. he’s sending me for split in lab study. I am exhausted I really don’t know what’s going on, I do wake up a lot. I been waking up with anxiety and crying because I really don’t know why. Possibly depression at this point. I don’t understand why I am so tired. I’ve had bloodwork like 10 times. submitted by /u/Shot-Basket-7347 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
