Hello! So yes, I'm allergic to honey. Like really bad. Full anaphalaxis and everything. Also, yes I know its not actually the honey but the pollen. It sucks): Anyway, I LOVE honey. I have for years and I miss it dearly. I've thought about maybe buying the super processed cheap supermarket honey or seeing if there's some sort of honey free but honey flavored syrup type thing. Do you all know anything like that I could try? I'm always super careful trying things that I know I may have a reaction to so I wont go downing the whole bottle before testing it out a few times lol. Thanks in advance &a ..read more

Hey everyone! I'm new here but I've had asthma and allergies my whole life. I noticed there used to be some dating apps/sites for people with food allergies but I haven't found any that are still around sadly. Wondering if there are any out there. It seems like crazy luck matching on a regular app with someone who also has allergies. Or local suggestions are welcome too. I'm in Orange County CA. Cheers. submitted by /u/ArtofTy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello all, I am very confused and looking for any advice! (27F) Back in 2019 I began experiencing irritable bowel symptoms. Every time I ate I would have diarrhea and abdominal pain. I saw my primary care doctor at the time and she ordered lab work. According to those lab tests, I did not have any type of IBD and she diagnosed me with IBS. (I do not know what blood tests she ran as this was outside of my current health network and the results are not in my chart). Shortly after, pandemic happened and I simply ignored my symptoms. I was always healthy otherwise and I never even got Covid. By 2 ..read more

Everything I Eat Irritates Me

I started having reactions to food 4 days ago, and every day I am continuing to have reactions. I've been eating different food daily to make sure I don't eat the same thing, but it hasn't made a difference. It's getting to the point where I'm not eating anything just so I don't have a reaction. I've had reactions before, but it's been a while. Is there some sort of safe diet or cleanse or something I can do to stop reacting to food? I started a new job, but have missed 3 of the 4 days I should've been working because of this issue. submitted by /u/Pleasant_Football_60 [visit reddit] [commen ..read more

Parents were bringing dinner home today, some for me and some for them (Greek food). They said I could have something from their plate - chicken, fries, beet salad, pita. I was going to go straight for the pita / fries, then I saw something unfamiliar on the plate. I poked at it, then it hit me all of a sudden. Called for my mother to come to the table and look at what I touched. You should've seen her reaction! Dragged me into the kitchen and made me scrub my hand in scalding water for 5 minutes. This was about an hour ago. I have a peanut / tree nut (and lesser legume allergy), and this is ..read more

Please help I have been to doctor after doctor for an abundance of health symptoms, mostly fatigue, for about 2 years now. I feel like every time I go they find something that I have, but it’s not causing the Fatigue. Over the years I have been diagnosed with IBS, POTS, depression, ADHD, and PCOS. I also have a vitamin D deficiency, folic acid deficiency, and potential cortisol problem. We have treated all of these, but the symptoms get better for a bit then mainly persist and I am, quite frankly, so tired of feeling like crap all of the time. I am at my wits end. I think I have some food int ..read more

Anaphalaxis 8X times in a month +ptsd symptoms

So about a month ago I had an anaphylactic reaction to a medication (antibiotic containing penicillin). For three days after that I had a reaction to a tofu and bean burrito, from touching the knife I used to cut the burrito with and then to ice cream with almonds in. Since then I’ve reacted to a vegan (pine nut free) chicken pesto burger, a mango smoothie (homemade) and a vegan ham and cheese sandwhich I’d had two hours prior with no issues. Every time I start to feel less anxious about eating, I have another reaction. Immunology refuse to let me have an urgent referral so I’ve got about a y ..read more

Can food allergies cause nausea hours after eating?

I have struggled with nausea badly since I was a kid. Odd thing is it would always be at night. I would eat dinner go to bed then end up getting up and having to sit with my parents as I felt sick. Sometimes this was accompanied by a stomach ache or racing heart. I thought I would grow out of it but didn’t and starting to get assume to was anxiety related. However sometimes I wonder if it’s some sort of allergy. The last two nights have been bad. I had pizza for dinner with meatballs and cheese and now my stomach is cramping and I have been feeling like I’m going to throw up. I would assume i ..read more

Do I need an EpiPen or similar?

Hey guys, I've had a couple of reactions to shellfish in the last few months and am wondering if I need to get myself an EpiPen? To give a little context, I tried prawns for the first time recently and immediately had a tingly sensation in my mouth, as well as a swollen throat a few minutes later which made it harder to breathe. This was after 2 prawns, so I immediately stopped and the effects seemed to pass after 40 minutes or so. Recently I had another run in with shellfish, where I ate scampi thinking it was fish (how wrong I was...). I immediately had the tingly feeling in my mouth as wel ..read more
