hi, friends!
wow has it been a while! blogging has not been a priority due to me buying a house, moving, and having the busiest spring and summer at my job since i started. it’s been a whirlwind. but i’d actually been contemplating getting back into blogging earlier this year when amerii reached out and offered to send me one of their handmade straw bags. i thought it was a perfect opportunity, so here are the photos!

hi, friends!
y’all, i just cannot believe it’s already october. the summer flew by and now it’s officially fall, which is very strange. it’s really not cooled off much in nashville, but i am starting to want to wear my fall clothes. obviously i shot this look much earlier in the season, but to me this is a pretty good example of how you can incorporate your fall pieces when the weather isn’t quite cooperating.
wearing a sweater with shorts is a very boho/california look in my opinon. not sure exactly where i got this notion, but i feel like back in the day on laguna beach, the girls would wear ..read more

hi, friends!
i’m back! wow, has it been a while. i made it six months without shopping before i honestly just decided i’d had enough of it. i still feel really accomplished; i sold a ton of stuff on poshmark and at local consignment stores, and generally got a good reality check when it came to my spending habits. i’ve definitely come to realize that i do not need to shop just for this blog and am focused on only adding items to my wardrobe that i’m obsessed with and can’t live without.
take this incredible kimono, for instance! i fell in love with the color and print and was dying ..read more

hi, friends!
i’m back this week with a beauty post. as i mentioned in my last post, i’m not shopping for any clothes or accessories this year, so i’m definitely wanting to include more skincare and beauty posts in addition to outfit posts when i can. i’m also in the process of moving and finding a new place to live, so i simply haven’t had time to focus on styling any shoots. once the weather gets a bit warmer in nashville and i’m settled, i’ll get back in the swing of posting my outfits and style inspiration. as you know, i’ve really been enjoying learning more a ..read more

hi, friends!
merry christmas! i hope this holiday season has treated everyone well and you’re looking forward to some quality time with loved ones over the next few weeks. this will be my last post for a while as i’ll have a very hectic work schedule around the new year. i have a shoot planned for january but you’ll start to see some changes on the blog in 2018.
i’ve recently decided to take a year off from buying anything new in an effort to save money and cut down on things i own. i’ve been collecting clothes, shoes, and accessories for far too long and i think it’s t ..read more

hi, friends!
this week i’ve got some outfit inspiration for y’all. i really wanted to style this suede dress from free people (you’ve seen it before on this post and this post!). as you can see, i’ve had the dress for over a year but i still love it and am looking for fresh ways to wear it. i feel a lot of pressure to buy new things to wear on the blog, but i’m really trying to resist that urge and shop my closet. blogging generally promotes a kind of rampant consumerism that i’m not quite comfortable with, so i’m trying very hard to be an example that you should buy th ..read more

hi, friends!
wow, y’all, it’s december. that’s pretty strange to me. work has been so busy this fall and the past few months went by incredibly quickly. i’m really not quite ready for winter, although i’m a little more excited for christmas this year than i have been in the past. typically i get the winter blues; i suppose it’s from seasonal depression and a lack of vitamin d or whatever, but so far i’m not really feeling that way yet! so, that’s a good thing. i supposed the unseasonably warm weather has helped that or maybe i’m just growing up.
in any case ..read more

hi, friends!
happy sunday! post is on a weird day this week because i had every intention of writing this while we were off for the thanksgiving holiday, but i didn’t bring my computer sooo…it didn’t happen. anyway, i’m excited to share this look with you because it features two of my new favorite things! i’m not doing anything with black friday because i’m honestly already sick of hearing about it, so i figure there’s a chance you might be, too!
the teddy coat trend is huge this year, and i’m a sucker for a good piece of outerwear. i fell in love with this free people ..read more

hi, friends!
happy friday! i’m sure you’re all gearing up for a fun halloween weekend; i know i am! i’ve got lots of fun plans (for once lol) and have a couple costumes up my sleeve this year, so i’m excited. be safe and have fun this halloween!
y’all know i love a great sweater and this free people chenille number is definitely in my personal top ten (i have a lot of sweaters). it’s so comfortable and because of the heavy drape of the chenille, it feels more like a blanket than an article of clothing. chenille is really trendy right now so you can find a lot of o ..read more
