Several high-level officials in south suburban Dolton are now facing a rush of lawsuits and investigations. Federal prosecutors accused Keith Freeman, who currently serves as Dolton village administrator and municipality manager of Thornton Township, of making false statements in his bankruptcy petition. The Chicago area remains under threat for severe weather on Tuesday night, with showers and thunderstorms expected to impact the region into the overnight hours. A tornado watch has been issued for DeKalb and LaSalle counties, and will run through 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Police in suburban Naperville are investigating after a shooting Tuesday afternoon, with some schools temporarily going into lockdown and a shelter-in-place alert going out to mobile devices. According to Naperville police, officers were called to a home in the 2500 block of Leach Drive at approximately 1:30 p.m. for reports of a gunshot victim. Dust storm warning issued in central Illinois, closing Springfield-area highway

Illinois is familiar with many types of severe weather warnings, but an alert issued Tuesday in Sangamon County is decidedly less common. According to the National Weather Service, a dust storm warning was issued along a stretch of Interstate 72 in the western portion of the county, and will remain in effect until 4:45 p.m. Illinois State Police also announced they had shut down that portion of the interstate because of visibility issues posed by the dust. Fake Botox that sickened 2 Illinoisans with botulism-like illness impacting other states

A new alert was released by the Food and Drug Administration Tuesday after at least 19 people were sickened by counterfeit Botox in at least nine states, including Illinois.
