I read Broda Barnes’s book about hypothyroidism, which went into detail about why lab tests aren’t always reliable. He went on and on about what thyroid treatment can do, but I still have no clue how to actually get it with lab results that seem normal. Any help?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 13 years old with TSH 14.00. Unknown cause, but my gland was smaller than normal. Since then I was stable on low dose of 37.5mg levothyroxine. After 15 years I have dropped the drug because I felt no different on it. Months have passed. I have checked TSH twice now and it is normal 1.50 How is it possible? Can thyroid heal on it is own? Was i cheated into taking this drug for years?

I’m pretty sure I’m not converting T4 to T3 adequately and am undiagnosed hypothyroid. Had my tsh, free t4, and t3 checked a year ago by my doctor. My tsh is on the very low end of the normal range (which means I have plenty of thyroid hormone). My free t4 is middle of the normal range, and my t3 is on the very low end of the normal range, almost zero. I know t3 is the finished product and what the thyroid ultimately produces. Could I be having a problem converting t4 to t3 and that’s also contributed to symptoms? I don’t have all the crazy hypothyroid symptoms, but do have some memory loss a ..read more

So I have been taking Levothyroxine for probably about two and a half years with, of course, blood work in between. I would say that over the past year-and-a-half every time I had blood work done my TSH levels were steadily climbing. Last August when I had blood work done they were almost at 12 which was a pretty big jump from the previous test. Recently, I started feeling kind of yucky again and decided that I probably needed to get blood work done so just got those results back and now it's at like 4. I am at a loss to know exactly why it would change that much or go down that much. I think ..read more

I’ve been taking synthroid for hypothyroidism so a few years, and I’ve never ever felt normal. What ever “normal is”
Recently I’ve been hit HARD with excruciating leg pains, mostly in my upper thighs. I sleep with heating pads on them, and use a THC lotion every night on the area along with Motrin and it doesn’t give me any relief.
I get so fatigue around the same time ever day, it’s so bad. It’s always in the afternoon. I am short tempered bc it’s so frustrating so feel like shit every day for “no reason.”
I need to nap, I need to have a soda a snack and to lay down.... but then that makes m ..read more

I’m not diagnosed yet, I got my blood drawn and the results were:
TSH = 4
FT4 = 12 (9-21 range)
TPOAb = 11 (has to be <35)
My TSH has been this high for years, anyone knows what I can do about it? Can this be the cause of my anxiety? Seems a bit far fetched but I don’t know what to do

I've been having a bit of hard time speaking loudly and for a long time (more than 1 hour) nowadays. And my doctor told me that I have a goiter. Idk why but I feel sore throat kind of sensation when I try to talk or sing strenuously. I'm seriously worried my goiter will become bigger and someday I'll go mute. If you know something plz tell me.
