Pregnancy with PCOS

So I'm trying for the first time to get pregnant and so far I'm feeling really good about our chances, but I am SUPER nervous because of how badly I want this to work. I went off birth control and I already feel a thousand times better than when I was on it. My question for others is: How long did it take you to get pregnant (with actual trying) and did it require intervention with medications? If you did take meds what were they for? Like I know I'll need my thyroid medicine because of my hypothyroidism, but they said I might not need something like Clomid to help prompt ovulation. My other ..read more

Hello! I have been wanting my hormones and getting tested for PCOS for a while and my doctor said no. I never got my hormones tested before and GP said no when I proposed it. I have had my thyroid tested and it’s normal. Symptoms I have: • Hair loss on temples/hair is thinner • Acne • Oily skin • Weight gain • Mood changes I do not know if I have irregular periods as I’m on the pill but as far as I know I’m regular. Do you think it’s still worth it trying to fight to get tested for it? submitted by /u/WiltedFlower_21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Needing advice with my pcos!

hi! so i’m 20f and i have pcos, but my symptoms have been so bad it’s becoming scary. i’m kind of feeling hopeless because i’ve been trying to figure out solutions for my symptoms but nothing is working. i’ve gone to multiple doctors about my cysts and how my symptoms are worsening (dizzy, nausea, fainting, shaking, being unable to move, irregular periods, etc) and the only solutions they give me are birth control. from personal experience, i was already on birth control for about 4/5 years and it didn’t do anything to help besides making my periods slightly (and i mean slightly) more regular ..read more

Hello! I’m 20 years old, and have been diagnosed since 2022. I am currently dieting and it’s been going well. However, I’m not exactly sure what I can eat? I am one of many women in my family with PCOS, but I’m the only one in Paris. They recommend snacks that are simply not here. I’m not a big snacker in general. But I am getting tired of nuts ? Anything would be helpful really! submitted by /u/Bell-greene [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone here suffer from too frequent bleeding?

Throughout high school, my daughter experienced extended periods with heavy cramps, backaches, nausea, diarrhea and exhaustion. She would bleed and have full menstrual misery for months with no break. The flow volume varied but didn’t follow a consistent pattern and was often too heavy to attend school. We sought help later than we should have because we didn’t recognize just how much she was hurting for years. We sometimes thought her symptoms may be from a stomach flu or high anxiety or a desire to stay home from school. We let her stay home on average once a week her senior year and finall ..read more

What does your lab work says about your PCOS

Hi, i just got a panel of lab/hormone back and the only thing that was out of range was testosterone. The normal range is 0-1.8 and i was slightly above. Mine was 1.9. All others like LH, FSH were in normal range. What were your testosterone like? Are all other hormones suppose to be normal in PCOS? If so, overall testosterone was just a minor elevation. Why does it wreck havoc as i missed my period for 4 months! submitted by /u/DTVV1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I've had my period on and off for 2 months now. Insanely heavy, goes for 7 days, stops for 7 day, back for 14 day, stops for 3 days etc. I also currently have really high iron? I got dx with pcos in 2021 but had no large cysts at that point submitted by /u/Most-Advantage-7674 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How do I stop the hair growing this quickly

I’ve had hair growing on my neck for the past 5 years maybe. It started off as one and grew very slowly. Over the past few months the hair has been growing increasingly quickly. And there’s a lot more of it. It’s almost my entire neck now and I shaved it away this morning and it’s already back. I want to cry every time I see or feel it. I can’t get laser or anything right now so any cheap options that can just get it away for at least a few days at a time? submitted by /u/prostateversace [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Fertility after 30?

I’m 23 and just diagnosed. I realise that this question probably gets posted hundreds of times but reassurance is still greatly appreciated. My doctor reassured me that getting pregnant is 100% possible and that I might just need extra help, but that also he’s seen several patients who got pregnant spontaneously so contraception is still important. I definitely want children at some point but I’m a law student and not very lucky in love (started looking at SMBC options and co-parenting because of this) and I don’t expect to be in a place to have kids until 30+. Is that too long to wait to hav ..read more
