A full video with mechanical explanations is in the works, but it’s a variant of a cycloidal drive. Previous iterations and future updates @morsedynamics on Instagram.

Hey folks,
I'm building a robot arm and I'm controlling it with ROS2.
At the moment, I send a JSON string over a single topic that contains the angles for each of the servos as follows:
{ "motors": { { "joint_name": "base", "target_angle_degrees": 90 }, { "joint_name": "elbow_1", "target_angle_degrees": 10 }, { "joint_name": "elbow_2", "target_angle_degrees": 45 }, { "joint_name": "elbow_3", "target_angle_degrees": 90 }, { "joint_name": "wrist", "target_angle_degrees": 0 }, { "joint_name": "jaws", "target_angle_degrees": 100 }, } }
This works, but feels like it's not the best approach.

Would it be possible to add an RGBD camera to a tree climbing robot and use it to generate a path along a tree to follow
What would the benefits drawbacks and considerations be for such a system

I was wondering if there was a way to make the motors rpm faster, or have more torque. Could I safely add more batteries to the motor. I have a Ultimate 2.0 10 in 1 Robot Kit. Currently the stock batteries are 6x 10AA, could I increase this number without blowing a fuse or breaking the robot. I do not care if there are long term effects I just want to know if this will increase the power short term (2 weeks). It has a PCB with alot of circuits and stuff would I break it by adding more batteries.
