This month, we’re excited to spotlight one of our current grantees, Zip With Us! Zip With Us donates custom medical access Zipshirts that accommodate ports, picc lines, tubes, and catheters for pediatric cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Back in the spring, Love Your Melon introduced our first-ever Build Your Own Beanie Design Contest. With the help of our hospital and nonprofit partners, we received nearly 100 entries from superheroes and their siblings from all over the country! Every time a family hears the words, 'Your child has cancer,' they are forced to make difficult decisions. They ask themselves: 'Should I keep working while taking extended time off for treatments and hospital stays? If I quit my job, can we survive financially?'   In honor of the back-to-school season, we are excited to spotlight our longtime partner, HopeCam! HopeCam's mission is to overcome the social isolation of children with cancer using laptops and webcams to connect the child with his or her school. Every time a child is diagnosed with cancer and isolated from friends, their mental health is at risk. HopeCam steps in to change that trajectory by virtually connecting kids with classmates, at no cost to schools or families. On July 13th, in celebration of the new Barbie Movie, Love Your Melon was proud to partner with the Mattel Children’s Foundation and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation to host a Barbie party for the children at CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County).  Families were greeted by an explosion of pink! POGO works to ensure that everyone affected by childhood cancer has access to the best care and support. They partner to achieve an excellent childhood cancer care system for children, youth, their families, survivors and healthcare teams in Ontario and beyond.
