I have been asking this question over and over in the past a couple months: how can we combine design thinking and Big Data analytics to discover deeper human needs? Anthropology type of behaviour study is intimate and thoughtful, but not scalable and can be polluted by human emotion. Big Data analytics is scalable and efficient, but not reliable and comprehensive due to data constraint. It seems like a marriage of the two methods is a good solution.
