Throw away account for privacy reasons. Like in the title, I (24f) have not been sober since October of 2020. I smoke weed everyday, and I can’t stop. This is also my first time posting here, and first time really addressing that I have a problem. At first I smoked because it was fun, and then I smoked to tolerate my boyfriend who was going through changes from leaving the military. He got better and our relationship is much improved but there’s some days I just cannot tolerate him while being sober, even when he’s not doing anything wrong. I know he has concerns with how much I smoke, and ha ..read more

Almost 3 months clean -- I love pictures of myself again

I quit drinking and using drugs (meth, crack, pills, and cocaine) in January and one of the things I recently fell in love with is taking early morning, no makeup, no filter, just raw faced selfies and comparing her with the strung out broken soul in pictures from active addiction. Both women were beautiful, but the woman in the picture I took this morning looks glowing. My skin looks full of good color and healthy instead of pale, yellow, and covered in red blotches. I've gained weight since coming off stimulants and beginning to eat again, but my face is still much more slender and you can ..read more

Am I an addict?

Don’t rlly know where to start. I feel as if I’m addicted to not being sober. There isn’t a specific drug of choice I’m addicted to as everyday I want to switch it up wether it be cocaine, benzos, alcohol, opioids, or ketamine. As long as I’m not sober I’m chillin. Is this an addiction? I know it’s obviously not healthy, but given the fact that I have no physical or mental addiction to a specific substance and it’s just an addiction to the mental feeling of not being sober what would this be? There isn’t a specific substance I crave more then any of the others ones nor do I get any sort of ph ..read more

What are the worst legal consequences from addiction?

My ex-bf (27) got arrested for his 3rd DWI since 2019. What are the most likely legal consequences of this in MN? Aggravating DWI factors in MN? Will he actually go to jail or even prison? After a few weeks of my previous boyfriend quite literally having a breakdown and ruining every positive relationship he had, he was arrested last week for a 0.26 DWI. It is not looking like a good situation as this is his 3rd offense. We live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. We are not dating anymore, don't live together, and don't share any significant debt or income. He is 27 years old and has been in an ..read more

I've been on it now about 3 weeks and started experiencing bleeding from both ends (vomit and stool). I'm referred to a specialist to see what it is. Wondering if methadone could be the reason for bleeding? Can it cause ulcers or something? submitted by /u/DocumentMuch5770 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I (32F) have realised the extent of my 35M partners addiction. It has grown from alcohol to include dexamphethamines and now sex. I have a young son to protect and I’m trying to put together a game plan to support my partner in recovery but have a few questions I can’t find answers to in my searching/reading (will consult a counselor as well). The main question I have is how do you believe that the person is sober when they have a history of lies? Do you test them, do you have them turn on find my iPhone? I don’t want to have to be “controlling” but how will I ever have faith that they are sa ..read more

Hi all, I am a 32 year old male with the pointless habit of taking amphetamines while binging alcohol. Whether I take them before I drink or during my binge usually turns out the same way. Wasting money on alcohol and only feeling the buzz of the amphetamines. Wondering if anyone else has this habit and maybe some advice on ideas why I may be doing this and how to cut it out? Thanks. submitted by /u/Infamous__Art [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
