Hi! Long time listener first time caller.
Going to be in the UK (London) in a few weeks and I’ve got my rum shortlist down to 15 bottles but I can only bring home a maximum of 3 (Canadian customs are great). Trying to keep the budget in check but obviously want good stuff (the Caroni is probably out of budget but I included it anyway) Also trying to go for brands I can’t get in my market like Hampden, Velier, Foursquare, etc.
If you’d had any of these bottles, would love to hear your thoughts on them, including value for money. Prices are in £ including VAT, which I’ll get a refund for, so ro ..read more

Flor de Cana - 130th Anniversary - aged 20 years
tastes like a FDC rum, loads of brown sugar but disappointing to the price point we paid for it
The Cane - Jamaican aged 14 years
I’ve never seen this rum before finding it in Las Vegas. Wonderful funk that I’m sure this subreddit would love, it’s a blend of Long Pond, Mont Musk, New Yarmouth, and Worthy Park
Foursquare - Master Series edition 3 for Total Wine - aged 14 years
full of the standard Foursquare caramel and sweetness, but there’s nothing that stands out
Japonisme - Lost Spirits newest release
this rum is fantastic. We sa ..read more

Got the 23 great house on sale to compliment my 22. The two back to back are wonderfully unique. The plantation at $75-80 is an absolute banger in my opinion. Tons of flavor, highly recommend.

Picked up these bottles over the last week while on vacation.
Super pumped to finally try Chairman’s Reserve, it’s not available where I live. Same with Novo Fogo.
Restocked on some Appleton 8 and some Plantation (sorry) and found a special release I’d never had (Belize 2015).
A couple bottles from a distillery in the BVIs which claims to be the Caribbean's oldest continuously operated pot distillery. Interesting tasting cane juice rum, different from anything I’ve had before.
Grabbed a silver Mount Gay, never seen that.
I drank (with the help of some friends) probably 5 bottles of Kingst ..read more

Hi everyone,
Looking to buy a bottle today and can't seem to decide between these 2 that cost the same where I am.
Abuelo 7 years
Barcelo Imperial
I drink neat, and I know it comes down to personal taste but if you had to pick one, which one would you go for?
Thanks!

I’ve always “liked rum” (Malibu, Bacardi, RumHaven). I’m about to start a pirate-themed D&D campaign with some friends, and I decided for fun I’d have a different rum each session (weekly).
I went out and stocked up for the first couple sessions. (The Kraken doesn’t count, it’s coming out when a kraken boss fight happens, so it isn’t the “Star” of any one session. RumHaven also isn’t included, I just always have some in stock).
So this is a journey of me diving into rum, real rum (and Bumbu), and trying new things. If you have any recommendations, drop them below! Since I’ll be getti ..read more
