I decided it was probably beyond time to write Tuesday’s Tidbits again.  This is Tuesday’s Tidbits No. 14.  It’s been almost 4 years ago to the day when I wrote my last Tuesday’s Tidbits No. 13.  Do you remember receiving them?  I started my first one in 2018 but after the last one I wrote in March 2020 is when I started to fall apart.  Between my sciatic nerve, the pandemic and my stomach issues and surgery, time just got away from me.   ..read more

My Latest Favorite Reads

I know it’s been quite awhile since I shared any of my latest favorite reads with all of you.  As in nothing since the end of May, 2023!  I’ve read many books throughout the summer, fall and winter; but I’m only sharing some of my favorites.  Some were religious, some were lent to me by neighbors up at our cottage and were quite resqué.  So I’ve narrowed these books down to just a few for your enjoyment ..read more

Making The Best Of Winter
The Red Painted Cottage

We all heard what the rodent said about spring coming early; but regardless, sometimes we need making the best of winter as we possibly can until it’s gone! Michigan is a beautiful state, even in winter!   Mr. Cottage had a snowmobile and we even skied.  Then somewhere along the way we started getting away to a warmer location, either a cruise or a trip to Florida, even Las Vegas when he had conventions to attend.   ..read more

Winter Doings When You Can’t Get Out

What are some of your winter doings when you can’t get out because of the weather?  Such has been the case with me ever since we had started with the snow in early January. “If winter helps you curl up and more that makes it one of the best of the seasons.”~Murray Pura One of the first things I did was to decorate our winter mantel so I would have something I love to look at ..read more

Just letting you know The Red Painted Cottage is still here!  It’s actually been a very restful and enjoyable time, but I’m finally back to blogging for 2024. “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” ~Leo Tolstoy Unfortunately, we just had and are still having lots of snow, winds and freezing temperatures.  Currently we have 18-24 inches of snow and it’s still snowing.   ..read more

Christmas 2023 Is Just Around The Corner

Christmas 2023 is just around the corner!  I’ve started shopping, but still have a ways to go.  This time of year is always a busy one for most of us.  Bible study took up much of my time with intensive studies, but I learned so much and made new friends.  It will start up again in January, but I don’t want to take a chance of driving or walking on the snow or ice.  I’ve had enough falls and issues with my back, so I’ll wait until next fall ..read more

Where has all the time gone?  We just celebrated Vivienne’s fourth birthday last Tuesday, and Thanksgiving is only a little over one week away!  And now there’s Christmas music on the radio stations!  Yikes! Welcome To Our 2023 Fall Color Tour

Welcome to our 2023 fall color tour.  Grab a cup of tea or coffee because there’s much to see.  Actually, we’ve had a crazy fall this year.  Lots and lots of rain, cloudy days and much cooler temps.  The weather men said we had much below temps, until we had 2-3 days of way above temperatures in the upper 60’s and well into the 70’s.  Then those couple of days put us above normal temperatures for October?   ..read more

It’s Been Awhile For My Stories With Sadie

It’s been awhile for my Stories with Sadie.  The last one I posted was when we went on the Panama Canal Cruise in March and Sadie’s own Vacation.  You can read it here. This is one of the more recent closeup photos I took of her before closing up the cottage.  Unfortunately, she’s getting more grey hair.  We adopted her in April 2017 when she was about 1-1 1/2 years old.  That would put her at about 7 1/2-8 years old now ..read more

My Favorite Month Is October

My favorite month is October.  It could be because of the leaves changing colors here in Michigan, cooler weather and it’s my birthday month.  As in today is my big day!  We haven’t taken our annual drive to looks at the trees yet, so the photo below is from last year. “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ~L. M. Montgomery. I really apologize for being so late in finally writing another blog post.   ..read more
