If you have watched any of my craft room tours on YouTube or read the blog posts, then you know I have a LOT of stuff crammed into my little craft oasis ? I have large vintage jars full of miniature ceramic figurines, mostly little animals. And baskets and boxes full of fabric and vintage laces and trims. One day as I was going through the vintage lace and what-nots I found some vintage baby shoes that I had forgotten about. For today's project, I decided to use one of the baby shoes and a little ceramic bunny for an Easter project. Altered Baby Shoe Easter Cart Read more ..read more

Craft Room Update Tour

I rearranged my craft room once again and made a few decor changes. I found a new rug and a curtain panel at Goodwill. Both were new from Target and from the Opal House line. Those two things plus replacing some peel-and-stick wallpaper that I used on the side of one of the bookcases really warmed the space up. Craft Room Update Tour Read more ..read more

DIY Thrift Baskets

Over the Christmas holidays, I became a little obsessed with some new Instagram Reels and TikTok videos that I found. I thought they were so fun and I couldn't stop watching them! They were "Merry Thriftmas" videos where people shared how they thrifted for Christmas gifts and put together some really beautiful and creative gift baskets for friends and family. I was sad to see it end so I decided why not create my own thrift baskets? Get it?? Gift baskets... Thrift baskets?? ? I created two for Valentine's Day and a few others so far. Read more ..read more

If you are new, the DOD challenge is a bi-monthly challenge where a group of my blogging friends and I take something old or unused and "do it over" into something new. I will share my project with you and then you'll be able to check out the other ladies' projects. Altered Valentine's Day Plate Read more ..read more

Inexpensive Bathroom Updates - Part One
Little Vintage Cottage

Today I have some updates at the rental cottage to share. We've taken a break from the kitchen projects and are working in the bathroom and laundry room. I'm sharing what we've done so far in the bathroom in this post. I would call most of these updates renter-friendly... if you've got a pretty lenient landlord ? Since I'm the landlord and my daughter is the tenant, we have been working together to update the little cottage she rents from me to be something she loves AND something that will easily transition to a new renter or can be easily undone if she moves out.  If you are new, yo ..read more

I haven't posted much about the rental cottage that my daughter and I are fixing up for her lately but we are still working away on it every weekend. If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, check out this post that explains it all: New Rental House Tour. We've been working in the kitchen lately. Well, this is it, the very last ornament from the 12 Months of Christmas Ornaments projects! It's time for Christmas in December's ornament project. I have created a cute little retro angel ornament that we'll make this time. It is inspired by some vintage ones that I've seen and some cute little mice ornaments that were made the same way that we had on our tree when I was growing up. If you missed any of the last eleven months' projects, you can check them all out here: Twelve Months of Christmas This project is easy to personalize with your choice of fabrics and hair color. If you've been reading the LVC blog for very long, then you probably know that I've been trying to work my way through some of my stash of things waiting to be repurposed or upcycled before I buy anymore. I did mess up and buy something at the thrift store the other day. I just couldn't resist it and I can't wait to make the project that's in my head come to life! But I am still working on my stash. I ran across some vintage baby shoes that I've had for a long time and decided to repurpose them into Christmas ornaments. Repurposed Baby Shoe Ornaments Read more ..read more
