Rapid Weight Loss

I got my diagnosis in January. Not on meds yet, because the Dr I have been referred to has decided to take a vacation until the end of May. My last test results that the primary did showed a cd4 in normal range (521) and a VL of around 29k. My question, though, is that I have lost about 55lbs since my diagnosis. To be fair, I was definitely obese, but that seems like an awfully short time period to drop that much. Feeling stressed after diagnosis

I was diagnosed with HIV almost two months ago. Of course when I first heard that I am HIV positive from my doctor, I felt that I am in a shock and I couldn’t believe it at the beginning, but during these two months I learned how to accept it and I was kinda fine with my new diagnosis. But lately (during last 2 weeks) I started to feel like I am overwhelmed, and started to blame myself and my previous actions that put me under a high level of exposure to the virus. I have a feeling of regret. I know that I should not feel this way and I have to accept things the way they are. I am on treatmen ..read more

Hey, it's me again and I have a situation or something like that. I dated this girl from 2017 to 2019 and I've been in my head a lot, and been going down a depressed path because of the way we ended this (well the way she ended things). When we broke up I believed that it was because of my status because it had happened to me before and let me tell you it wasn't a good feeling, anyway pandemic happened and we talked from time to time, and finally told me the real reason why we broke up….the real reason was that she felt like she was wasting my time, for instance, every time I wanted to hang o ..read more

I know the title sounds like a lot but hear me out. I moved in with him when I turned 18 still in high school. I tried to get him to use protection but he said no and I gave up. I asked if he had been tested and he said yes and I believed him. I trusted that he was being faithful to me so there was no reason for me to regularly get checked. Through out the 1.5 years I lived with him he emotionally, financially, and (lightly) physically abused me. I paid all the bills and expenses while he stayed home doing who knows what. he took away my driving privileges because “he needed the car” even tho ..read more

Giving up on love

I don’t know if I am just stuck in a hard place but, with my diagnosis, it dwindled my chances of being more open in the dating scene as I have to limit myself. I think I’m just dealing with a slight heartbreak, but quite honestly, I am ready to just turn myself off. Shut myself down completely from the love department. I am exhausted of looking around the world and feeling broken because I can’t do it so freely. I feel trapped in my own feelings. I’m just tired of feeling. It’s not a lot left in me, and whatever was left just got destroyed because the one person who made me feel incredibly s ..read more

First time posting here, so please be kind! :) So I was diagnosed about 2 months ago and was lucky enough to start Biktarvy just a couple of days later. As we all do / did, the first thing I did was consult Google and Reddit; but I mostly came across horror stories and complaints about side effects. So I just wanted to share my own personal experience, to let others know it is not all doom and gloom! When I was diagnosed I had a CD4-count of 25 and a viral load of about 85K, so my outlooks were not that great to begin with. I did some research on the Internet and I only got more and more depr ..read more

What did you do after your diagnosis?

I haven't been diagnosed, but I think I have a high likelihood of having it. I was sleeping with this guy, most times unprotected(you can chastise me, I'm terrified now and will never do that) and he was into things where we both bleed so his blood did get into mine, and one night he asked me if I had any STD. I told him I didn't and asked why and he said because he's had untreated HIV for a long time. Haven't talked to him since obviously. Anyways, I'm going to the doctor on Monday to see if I do have it or not. I can't do a home test incase my dad finds it. So I'm wondering what everyone di ..read more

So I was diagnosed about 5 months ago and I recently started dating again. I am now undetectable. I’ve been seeing this amazing guy for a few weeks now. He’s literally perfect in every way. Of course we did not have sex yet but he really wants to. I keep making excuses of why I don’t want to. I don’t know how to tell him I have HIV … I’m soooo nervous and scared of losing him because even though it’s been a short amount of time we have developed some feelings and a strong connection. Anyway I guess my question is, do you find people will usually run away when you tell them you have HIV or do ..read more

Do you also experience the same thing? I do intermittently. I'm not taking any med right now neither doctor's consultation. I have read this article though. https://www.aidsmap.com/about-hiv/erectile-dysfunction-and-hiv#:~:text=Nerve%20damage%20that%20occurred%20with,to%20be%20of%20particular%20importance. submitted by /u/Kenji4U [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
