After months of deliberation, I have decided Wonderlaind should expand to bigger and better things. This includes my love for photography and travelling – not that I will focus less on food, but to showcase more of what I see everyday and the beauty of it. The new site is https://18600331.wixsite.com/wonderlaind/blog   I hope I can offer my readers the same quality and exciting recipes and reviews with this new change and for my creative side to get a good kick and motivation again Happy reading lots of love, Alice ..read more

If you didn’t notice, a massive heatwave hit Sydney. So all I could think about was having a light, refreshing mousse cake for my birthday high tea I was preparing for. It was a pretty chill day, everything was pretty much homemade and I could not have asked for such amazing company. This mousse cake is pretty darn delicious and easy to make (my cousin and I just made it difficult for ourselves haha) Just follow the tips and you will be alright! Ingredients Biscuit base 200g Arnotts Shortbread (smashed/blended) 75g butter, melted Strawberry Buttermilk Mousse  100g strawberries 60g sugar s ..read more

Oh my! It certainly has been a while! It’s been a hectic year – resuming studying, working and planning. Planning you ask? Planning for Europe of course! It’ll be my first Christmas and New Year’s overseas, so I am super excited plus I’ve literally worked myself to death this year so its time for a holiday. Thought I might update you all on an amazing little cafe my friends and I found in Bellingen. If you didn’t know, Bellingen is a town 30 minutes away from Coffs Harbour – which I describe is a mix of country and hipster. Its quaint and I absolutely adore this place. Qudo just recently opene ..read more

Hunter Valley ft Muse Restaurant

Some might condemn me for loving white wine, I do love a good red, but the general crispy and fruit notes in white just seems to settle on my palate a little bit more. Some of my favourites that you may have not tried – Lambloch Estate and their Flipside collection is stunning.  Each white is completely different and has a more fruity taste than Audrey, Scarborough and Bimbadgen. Verdelho is the new up and coming white that has been popping up these days so look out for it! It’s quite an acquired taste but I fell in love with it the moment it touched my lips. There’s a couple of shops and ..read more

Suzie’s Restaurant

Lane Cove’s newest restaurant presents Modern Australian food with hints of European flair. Suzie’s has an a la carte menu as well as a degustation menu with matching wines. Despite the restaurant being located on the main strip, the atmosphere is extraordinarily soothing and relaxed. Amuse Bouche – Complimentary amuse bouche came out first, although slightly over reduced, the tomato soup had a big hit of herbs and perfect balance between salty and sweet. Entree – Scallop Two Ways This dish consisted of a Scallop tortellini with pan seared scallops and mushroom foam on top. The pastry w ..read more

Can’t believe the Long weekend is already over! This trip to Melbourne was designed for me to eat as much as I can. And yes, I fulfilled my dream! Of course, there are still many cafes and restaurants I wish to go to, so I’ll be back Melbourne. I love you so much So here was my itinery! Day 1: Hardware societe I was not disappointed and only waited 20 minutes in line (what?). Although the duck confit doesn’t beat the one I had in Paris (Okay, who are we kidding, duck confit in Paris) but this came pretty close compared to all the other one’s i have tried. The meat was pull-a-part off the bone ..read more

Mana Chita

Ethiopian food: my new found love. Mana Chita in Coff’s Harbour is a gem of its own. This place has well priced and flavoursome food- something you rarely find these days. It also a little love story behind it which captures your heart even more. That’s a story for next time, unless you really want to hear it (it’s super cute). Moving onto the food though- Duba Kufa – fried pumpkin and rice ball. It was quite close to an arancini except it was creamy and incredibly fluffy in the middle. It was served with a dipping sauce of yoghurt and chilli, be warned though, that dip was hot. HOT. Since th ..read more

Hope you all had a fantastic Easter! My friends and I became super lazy over the weekend so we ended up eating out half the time. First stop: Lox Stock and Barrell   ‘ So Bondi’ as one of my friends would say. Homemade almond and soy milk, house made bread (their bagels are sensational) and jam. This place is  for fresh, local produce with simple combinations. Absolutely delicious. Poppy seed bagel with homemade jam & platter (salad, hash, pickles) Fluffy hash, blended with onion and lightly friend to a crispy perfection. Packed full of flavour and if you haven’t had it, defini ..read more

I had  a perfect weekend in Coffs Harbour and that place is photography heaven. There are a few things I highly recommend doing. Dorrigo –  National Park About an hours drive from Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo National Park has stunning views and fantastic walking routes. There are 20min – 4hr hikes so make sure to wear proper shoes if you’re going to take the challenge. Bellingin/Promise lands Bellingin itself is a foodies delight. Multiple cafes and fantastic gelato might I add. About a 15min drive off Bellingin, the creeks of Promise Lands are clean, super cold and gorgeous fo ..read more

Coffs Harbour Eats

I am a city girl at heart. Born and bred in the City. Though being in the country it made me realise that there was something more than just the hustle and bustle of the city. Also the amount of fantastic cafes around this area is astonishing. I’ve put together all the places I ate around as well as a special mention to a few people who made the weekend so amazing. Old John’s 360 Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour  Rustic, wooden decor. Nothing about it doesn’t scream Alice. There is a heavy American vibe with vintage country American music pumping throughout the store. Staff are friendly and t ..read more
