There are many well-known composers such as Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Liszt, etc. As someone who is a fan of various Indie music which I feel is not recognised enough, I want to listen to some not as well-known, underrated composers' work. I appreciate anyone who shares your underrated composers and maybe your favorite work by them! submitted by /u/Soletest [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I really dig this: Conversations With Myself - Bill Evans Piana-Pella [piˈænoʊ pɛlla]: a song performed specifically with piano sounds only and without vocal accompaniment. submitted by /u/OnARockSomewhere [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My keyboard("instrument") is not touch sensitive

So I started a weeks ago to learn keyboard, unfortunately, I wasn't aware of the importance of touch sensitiveness. I've practced on this for up to 8 hours a day. And now knowing I can't play the songs that I started playing this for, I don't know if I should continue, I don't dismiss piano, but I can't get any better keyboard in the following year or more and I can't help but feel I'm wasting my time by playing on this. When I'm trying to learn about a new topic, in this case: new pianos, I consult experts. Of course, I also try to balance expert guidance against what their roles are and what their incentives are. Consider the following text message exchange with Piano Salesguy: Me: How does post delivery tuning work? Salesguy: There are two answers to the term post delivery. 1] properly prepped at the shop and professionally delivered, the piano you choose will not need tuned for a year. 2] We offer top rated techs to tune the piano in the home. You need only contact me when you feel the instruments needs ..read more

My piano sizzle ):

In this example I played only two/three notes. But, when I am playing a piece with a lot of chords and dissonance (manly blues cause of the loudness and the dominant dissonance) it is very annoying. Does someone know what's happening here? It has to do with the Acoustic panel? (Idk how it's called) (I know my damper sistem isn't on its best, but it's not a great deal for me, I'm mostly annoyed by sizzling) submitted by /u/giuliano290512 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Etude Difficulty Tier List

(Put together while procrastinating on a task I really don’t feel like doing.) This list, which includes etudes by Chopin, Liszt (final forms only), Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Scriabin, is determined subjectively by me, an amateur pianist with relatively extensive knowledge of and experience with the piano repertoire. Discuss, or provide tier ratings of your own, especially for etudes not mentioned here; the main reason I only include etudes by these composers is because those are the ones I’m most familiar with, not to mention the fact that these etudes are probably the most often played.
