Im still hurting and still making pots,,,,, but I  have decided to take some time off,,, So Janet and I have decided to sell the gallery,,   its gotten to be too much for both of us,,,,,,,   The gallery has the best location at the Renningers Antique Market,,, and we have taken great care of it,,,, nothing to fix   I hate to leave,,  making and selling potteries has been my true  love ,,, I have been out here working every weekend for 18 years  thats all for now   xoxo martin ..read more

well its been an entire year that I have been dealing w/ this back pain,,,,,,,, and Its health care in the ''covid days'' so everything takes forever,, or get put aside and forgotten,, or just passed along [that way the doctor does still make money]   it took going through 4 doctors to finally get help,,,  I finally got 2 shots in my spine that have helped,, all I need is one more, but instead of the shot,, all I got is pills,,, I just have to wait until October[ thats when I get my medicare,,, which is the ''golden ticket'' to get help,,   It has been a fun year,, 2 trips to t ..read more

alrighty then!  another 3 day EXtravaganza weekend!! with  me just sitting there, in my back braces NOT making pots,,,  I am not excited at all,, this back thing is still plagueing me,,, its not as bad as it has been,,, I can get a decent nights sleep,,, [except for the last 2 nights as Booboo the dog has ''kennel cough'' so he is hacking and yaking  all night long,,, now he has medicne and is getting better]   I have made 4  pots that are new,,, and business is so slow, I am not too worried,,, I still have another 50+  lovely potteries,,, and you never kn0w ..read more

Well I was going to write about how my back is feeling better,,, but suddenly it just now has started in aching again,,, groan,, must be from sitting at the computer, I have still been doing nothing [all day everyday]  and the pain is down to a slightly sore back,,,   I figure I am going to have to be very careful and hopefully it will heal,,, I tried putting my throwing wheel up on cement blocks, so I wouldnt' have to lean forward to make the pot,, but that just made me confused and I couldn't quite figure out how to make the pot   As you can see from the picture today I ..read more

The ''fun'' just never stops!   Before I give you the update on my back problem  [I just thought!  is it a sign that I am getting old when all I do is talk about my aches and pains? its been a coupla weeks since I last wrote. .I usually write and inspiring New Years blog,,,   I'm not so inspired going into the new year,,,   The bone spur malady is still plaguing me... I will be going back to the doctor next week [getting sick during the pandemic was a terrible idea on my part],,, I have been hobbling along, the pain just never lets up,, and I think I have built up amunity to asprins The medical marijuana dilemma is almost solved,,, in 6 days I will get my legal Florida medical marijuana card,,, and hopefully that helps,,  the road to getting the card ..read more

well the xrays showed I have a bone spur in the middle of my spine,,,, thats whats causing all the pain!   the solution  is do nothing,, for now,,,, wait 3 months and look at it again,,,,,   HOWEVER   the pain is nonstop,, and doctors no longer perscribe pain pills,,,  so just asprins and gin and a heating pad,,,   at first I was relieved that it wasn't cancer or something really horrible,,, but then later on I realized it is going to be damn near impossible to keep making pots,, and w/ no pots to sell,,,  there is no $$$$   all very very depressin ..read more

our hot humid flawida weather has turned most chilly lately,,, For the last month or so my back has been hurting,, which is about normal seeing as I spend a lot of time hunched over the wheel turning pots and then carving and painting them, and then the rest of  the day Im digging in the gardens or dragging around hoses to water everything,,,   so the pain has been getting worser lately,,, so then its been lots of aspirins and wine and naps,,, and then it got bad,,, lots of standing in hot showers and laying bundled up in the lazyboy w/ heating pads and ointments and very little gar ..read more

It has been a busy last few weeks!   first up, was the November Extravaganza Show ,, more like ''no show''...  our business was down,, I mean DOWN!!! by far the worst Extravganza show ever,,, half the normal dealers never showed up leaving the field sorta empty,, money wise,, I think I sold 1 pot...   the bright side being I did buy a great California Arts and crafts tile topped wood side table!!! and even weirder I bought an ''outsider art''  drawered chest by R A Miller,, with a painted flag on top and a devil and Uncle Sam painted on the sides,, I kept walking past it t ..read more

Thats right folks!  this weekend is the big Extravaganza show out at Renningers Antique Market in Mount Dora,,,, 1000+ dealers! [Friday Saturday, and Sunday]   Its the busiest weekend of the year,,  and Its the busiest for our gallery as well,,, lots of folks coming out to buy pottery, Janets' jewelry and w lots of new paintings as well, from all of our artists   So I have been very busy making lots of pottery,, and I have my new 2020 Christmas ornaments as well,,,   my favorite stuff I have been making are ''Alligator and Flamingo canes''  I cut the tops off of ..read more
