Anyone know what may be used to create this type of glaze effect?

Artist is Maryam Yousif! Found this piece on IG and it blew my mind because it’s the exact effect I’ve been trying to achieve with 0 success. Any idea what glazes may be used to achieve this kind of result on a sculptural piece? I also really like how the eye is popped out and wondering how they accomplished that as well. submitted by /u/KitchenLoan6 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I mixed some mason stain delphinium blue into the clay before throwing. It's glazed in a clear glaze my studio makes from scratch. I really like how this turned out! submitted by /u/falling_fire [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I ordered a lead test kit online, and the bowls seem to have passed that test. I also have left vinegar in a bowl with them overnight, and the vinegar doesn't seem to be discolored in any way. However, I did notice that the bottom of the bowls were slightly wet after leaving the vinegar in them overnight. There weren't visible water droplets but it was damp to the touch. I'd probably avoid storing things in these in the fridge for multipl ..read more

hihi everyone I just recently started sculpting again and i believe i may have been a little over ambitious with the size and concept of my sculpture. the walls of my sculpture are pretty thin, and im thinking about layering thicker pieces of clay on top. Should I do this when the whole piece is more leather hard? idk im debating on restarting it because i really don’t want it to break under pressure and… so i can implement what ive learned submitted by /u/One_Imagination9886 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
