Tea & A Book: Anne of Green Gables and Lavender Tisane

I was looking for a spring read with lots of vivid imagery, and Anne of Green Gables did not disappoint. Over the years I have seen so many quotes from this book, and a lot of book vloggers were recommending it as a good spring read, so I ordered a gorgeous copy of the Puffin in Bloom version (I was not paid to say that) and read it pretty quickly. As an orphan, Anne is recovering from a lot of trauma, but finds a new home in Green Gables with the unmarried Cuthbert siblings. The way Anne sees the world, naming parts of the woods, and seeking out “kindred spirits,” is truly beautiful. Especial ..read more

Tea & a book: The Storyteller and Earl Grey

Today I’m talking about a book I recently finished, “The Storyteller” by Dave Grohl. This was a phenomenal autobiography with lots of emotional intelligence and class while still showing the real side of life as a super famous rock ‘n roll musician. Judging by videos of him and this book Grohl is a super down-to-earth person, talented but also humble and loyal to his loved ones (and fans). The stories he shares throughout are a testament to his love of music, his mom, and is family. I love his anecdotes about his daughters, as well as the many amazing places he had the privilege to travel to a ..read more

Hello, I have returned! I have been extremely busy as a full-time work-from-home mom. I have been focusing on spending the little downtime I do have reading, with my daughter, and on my own. I honestly was struggling to think of where I wanted to go with my blog, so for a year, I posted nothing at all. But then I realized, this is my space, and it does not have to be super formal, and I do not have to write long form articles when I do not have the time to. So if you’re a reader, you’re in luck! I am going to be sharing brief reviews along with my cups of tea, of the very eclectic variety lite ..read more

I was a brownie scout for a brief time as a kid, so Girl Scout cookie time is nostalgic for me. I also have a huge sweet tooth so I can’t resist getting a few boxes — to fulfill my craving and help young girls find a place of belonging. This year I only bought three kinds — S’mores, Thin Mints and Samoas (aka Caramel deLites). Read on for the tea I paired with each cookie. Many troops are out selling this year, but if you are concerned about staying safe, check out the Girl Scouts website for groups to order from. You can search by name for scouts in your region in the online cookie finder, as ..read more

Hello, friends! I hope you are all safe and well. It’s been an eventful — albeit odd at times — year. I once again have gone a long stretch without posting, but in mid-June, my daughter was born, so I have been focused on caring for her. I can’t believe how much she’s grown in almost two months! She is already smiling and babbling, and we are excited for upcoming milestones. View this post on Instagram Hi, tea friends! I thought I’d introduce myself to some of the new followers around here since it’s been a while since I did a post like this! I don’t really show my face much but I want to ch ..read more

I wish I could say I’ve been super productive throughout this quarantine. I should’ve done more blog posts, started a new hobby or something to that extent. But it’s been really mentally exhausting at times, since I’ve continued working full-time, my belly has kept growing and I’ve been trying not to worry too much about the pandemic and state of our work industry. One thing that’s given me a lot of joy and comfort, though, has been cooking and baking. So I wanted to share a few new favorite recipes I’ve found with you all. We are completely social distancing to be extra careful, so we’ve bee ..read more

Amora Teas review

Amora Coffee recently reached out to me about trying their new teas. The company is known for their coffee but recently added a tea line, so I was interested to see how the blends were. While I usually sip loose leaf, these bags were rich and flavorful. The teas are all pure and organic, and I enjoyed all of them. They currently have a deal going on their website to try any of their 16 pack tins for free (just $1 for shipping), which is definitely worth checking out. Earl grey Earl Grey is one of my favorite tea blends, so I judged this one harshly. I wasn’t disappointed. Amira’s earl grey ha ..read more

When Estee Cheng from Esteas reached out and asked if I wanted to try her teas, I was excited, especially for the Duck Shit Oolong. I’d seen it around and have always been curious what all the hype was about, and where the name came from so I looked forward to tasting it.   I received four samples to try: Duck Shit Oolong is floral and sweet. I loved this tea and can see why the farmers wanted to trick people into not wanting it with the name they gave it (see full story in the Q&A with Estee Cheng, following these tasting notes). Honey Orchid Oolong is a sweet treat. This tea is frag ..read more
