Hi everyone, thinking of doing a Stepdown contract with UIHC, wondering if anyone here has any RECENT insight of working conditions there. Ratios, PCT/CNA, phleb, etc. anything helps! I did read some negative reviews about 3 months ago but am hoping there’s some update to how it is recently… submitted by /u/Mysterious_Movie_883 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The director of my unit requested my extension in March and they haven’t approved or denied me.

But my contract ends this week. This job isn’t the best and definitely doesn’t make great money and has a fuckton of issues like the vents literally catching fire and the entire internet getting shut down. so I don’t feel like I’m losing anything special. But it is in a nice area and I’m so tired of moving, and orienting and learning new facilities, I kinda just wanted a break from All that bullshit this summer. this floor had me precept 3 full-time internal travelers throughout my contract. While waiting for a response for the extension, I emailed the director who requested my extension, as ..read more

Outpatient GI/oncology centers?

Hi all- I’m trying to break into some new contract opportunities for my company. I’m looking into outpatient GI centers and outpatient oncology. It looks like there are a LOT of facilities like this, but not sure if they even use travelers, or if this is a settle a travel clinician would even be interested in. If you’ve traveled at an outpatient GI surgery or oncology center, would you mind sharing the company the facility was part of (not the agency you worked with). I’m hoping to figure out, at least as a baseline, where they use them or at least have in semi recent past. Also- bonus points ..read more

Anyone ever worked in the ER at Sutter Davis? I was told it’s a pro-“patient experience” environment. What did this translate to for you? How different was it from any other ER? submitted by /u/NurseKrissi [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone. I had to complete a drug screening through castlebranch on Thursday and I still have yet to receive my results. Has anyone else experienced this type of delay through castlebranch? It’s starting to make me nervous. If I failed would Labcorp have contacted me? Freaking out slightly as this test was crucial for school and I start my clinical site veryyyy soon. submitted by /u/stilngdstiombccds [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Has anyone worked in their ER? I've been presented with a contract and I want to accept it, as I've worked trauma centers before, but figured it couldnt hurt to see if anyone had insight/reviews of this place. Excited to visit NM for the first time but making sure I know what to anticipate :) Thanks! submitted by /u/jwolford90 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question for the recruiters

Recruiter keeps saying that jobs are “on hold for a returning traveler.” Is this actually a thing? Edit: I’m aware extensions are a thing, I’m asking if a new posting is still sent out to agencies only for them to be told that it’s on hold. Almost every job I’ve applied for lately is “on hold” but never heard this with my previous recruiter. submitted by /u/worthlessliver [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Kaiser Oakland Medical Center in Oakland, CA

Got an offer for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland (3600 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94611) on a med-surg/tele unit and strongly considering the contract as I'd like to explore Oakland and areas around it. Anyone here worked there as a traveler or staff? How are ratios for Med-surg, lab draws (phleb. vs. nurse draw; I'm comfortable with either), overall ambience, management, etc.? Thank you! submitted by /u/elentiya_giselle [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
