I'm a daily cross fitter, but don't really get into the culture or the brand, so I was surprised to see when I went to register for the Open that it's being sponsored by the Customs and Border Protection agency. Not a member of the sub, but came here to see if anyone else is talking about it.
CBP is an atrocious organization that centers much of its work around extrajudicial action, racist profiling, and abuse of power. It's notoriously opaque in its operations, makes regular use of dehumanizing, excessive force its SOP, and its leadership is perpetually incompetent. I know the politics of th ..read more

Joining a CrossFit gym in Southern California later this week and… be honest… if I (26F) walked into the gym in head to toe lululemon gear, am I gonna be judged? Wondering what brands I need to shop at because I’m worried my current yoga & pilates-type brands/fits won’t fit the vibe. Or maybe I’m wrong and no one gives a crap! Either way, would love some honesty to help me feel a little more comfortable in a very out-of-my-comfort-zone environment. Thanks!!

Hello all~ I've been doing Crossfit for about 6 months now and am really looking to progress. I'm at a turning point in my fitness journey where I really want to be more intentional and focused, so improving my fitness and technique is the main goal. However, I also want to have fun during my workouts and feel like I'm part of a community, including participating in some small local competitions or events. I've narrowed it down to 2 different boxes I've attended for varying lengths of time via drop-ins or weekly trials, and I need help deciding which one will help me grow in my Crossfit journ ..read more

So my affiliate gym follow the CrossFit Affiliate Programming and for me it’s not perfect but a good program. I just want to have some extra workout during my week that I do before or after the class. (Can be gym, skills, strength, …) I already tried to follow a full prog that I found on strivee but, I really don’t like to train alone so I prefer doing the class with my coach and other people. So is there any program that propose extra workouts like 15-30 min / days that we can do after CAP class ?

Hello, I am a couple months into CF and loving it. Anyone have any good recommendations for podcasts or YouTube channels that capture things like workout atmosphere (maybe personal vlogs or gyms showing thier classes). Mindset and theory stuff; (I already am listening to the Misfit podcast and absolutely love the way they talk about training from the regular person to competitor perspective). Some games related stuff.
Not looking for form or technique based channels, those are easy enough to find. But looking to get further ingrained into the culture & sport.
Thanks!

Moving to the area for some short term stuff I have to handle. Looking for gym that has open gym, even better if it’s come anytime. I usually just hit my programming solo.
West Coast CF looks solid but thought someone might have a recommendation. Thanks ?

Hello! I got a buzz of energy and decided to try a CrossFit class yesterday. I’ve been doing SolidCore and Barry’s Bootcamp along with walking and thought it would be a relative breeze. It was not and I loved it but had a very difficult time sleeping last night.
The class was at 6pm, I showered and tried to go to bed at 9 and couldn’t fall asleep until well after midnight. According to Google this sounds like a cortisol spike but curious if anyone else has felt this and how you might have addressed it.
