Volunteers UG Series is coming up on July 13th, this year at Osler Bluff Ski Club, and they could always use help with volunteers. If you’re interested in helping out, judging, moving weights, etc. We know they would appreciate the help. As many of you know CrossFit Indestri was always very connected to UG Series. The RX Doing a workout RX means that you have done the entire workout as prescribed. Exactly how it’s written from the weights, to the movement standards and rep scheme. You didn’t change anything and hit all the movements standards on every rep. RX is a goal that you can work towards. Goals are a great thing to have, they keep you motivated and moving forward, but doing a workout RX’d does not mean that you got in a better workout than someone who scaled. What do we mean? Keep Track Last week we shared the blog post about keeping track, writing down your workouts, and the importance of measuring your fitness. Today is an iconic benchmark workout, one that we test and retest to measure your fitness. If you take your fitness seriously, you get a book and you write it down. Write it down Last week we did a 1RM Clean + Jerk, this week a 1RM Front Squat, and we used percentages of those two 1 Rep Max lifts to lift off in our workouts. How many of you wrote those numbers down, in a book? If we asked you, your numbers how many of you would know them?   If we asked you what your Jackie time is? Guardians Some of you may have seen that last Tuesday, Tyson Oldroyd was told his position at CrossFit HQ was no longer there. After nearly 20 years working for CrossFit HQ, Tyson who was a huge part of CrossFit media and the story telling in CrossFit had his position eliminated. Costly We talk about standards a lot. Both in our regular classes and when it comes to the competition side. If you follow the competition side of CrossFit you will have seen on Thursday morning that the leaderboard for quarterfinals has had some big shake ups with some of the top athletes in the world having scores adjusted for the standards on at least workout 1, in the step ups that we know of right now, for their heads not being in line with their entire body.
