At The Chemainus Theatre, 9 to 5 means the work day is just getting started! And around here, that means a whole lotta laughs and even more great singing. You may be familiar with the original movie by the same name. I was not. I mean, I had heard of it, but never watched it. So when I came to watch the stage version of 9 to 5, I came with an empty slate.
And I’m glad I did too.
This story masterfully tackles enduring workplace issues with humour and exceptional.

We have come to expect nostalgia and the making of special family Christmas memories every year when we visit The Chemainus Theatre.
Why?
Because it’s one of our favourite Christmas family traditions and Chemainus Theatre delivers every time.
We started attending Chemainus Theatre many Christmases ago as a family (I think our oldest was 10 years old) so when I said it was time again to visit for the Christmas show, ALL our kids were excited and ready to go!
If you have young kids & especially teenagers, you know how much of a Christmas miracle that truly is.
There’s just something about wa ..read more

I have been fortunate enough to visit several tropical destinations. Through my experiences, I have learned some valuable tips and must-have accessories that will make your vacation on a tropical island even more enjoyable.
First and foremost, it is crucial to pack light:
You will be spending most of your time in a swimsuit and light clothing, so resist the urge to overpack. Plus, it will be much easier to navigate through everything with a lighter bag and only the things you really need.
As for clothing, make sure to bring breathable and lightweight fabrics such as cotton, linen, or rayon. Th ..read more

It feels good to laugh, doesn’t it?
To belt out a good chuckle and guffaw every now and then does wonders for the body.
We definitely enjoyed some of those health benefits of a good laugh the other night when we visited the Chemainus Theatre and enjoyed “The Fiancée”. This humorous story follows Lucy, a sweet young woman who can’t seem to say “no” to anyone.
Have you ever had that problem? Poor refusal skills?

“Did you see me spin out on turn 3?”
“Oh my word! How did you pass me?”
“This is so much fun! My adrenaline is pumping!”
These are just a few phrases spoken by various members of my family on our recent visit to Fast Time Amusements located in Parksville. Sometimes it’s challenging to find activities for our family with 3 teenagers, but this outing was a no-brainer.
We had so much fun!
And it’s no wonder because at Fast Time Amusements, their philosophy is to “have a fun environment for kids, adults and the whole family to experience the thrill of racing where you can feel like a NASKart ..read more
