I am an artist specializing in high detailed Graphite drawings. I like to work big, usually at 72" x 72" - 84" in oils and want to start working that big in graphite. I've been accepted into a Gallery. In the past, I've drawn my large graphite pieces using large rolls of paper, but mounting large paper in the sizes of 72-84" is a problem for two reasons. 1. Cradle Board and MDF at that size is extremely heavy. 2. It's hard to find good quality paper in the size of 72 - 84" wide. For these reasons, I have experimented with drawing Graphite on Canvas by Gessoing multiple layers and sanding the ..read more

Venice Biennale. I am Brazilian and this year the curator was Brazilian. All Brazilian newspapers are talking very well. But many ''foreign'' newspapers have negative reviews - ''Too many dead artists, and not enough panache''. What do you think ?

I understand that a lot of bad art uses politics to cover up its own weaknesses. And people don't have the courage to criticize you because ''the message is positive'', politically correct, diversity I think that in Brazil there is still no awareness of this. Brazil is a place where art has little space and often needs to flirt with politics to survive. submitted by /u/More_Bid_2197 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
