A young boy (14) riding his bicycle was killed in a collision with a car in East Gwillimbury Sunday afternoon, York Regional Police reports. Emergency crews responded to a collision between a cyclist and an SUV in the area of Doane Road and Center Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. Despite life-saving efforts, the boy died at the scene, officers say. Most elective surgeries and non-urgent procedures at Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife are being cancelled till October 1 as the facility continues to struggle with an oxygen supply problem, as per the Northwestern Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA). A man sustained fatal gunshot injuries last Sunday evening a shooting in the Riviere-des-Prairies-aux-Trembles, Montréal. According to police reports, the man 33, was found on the ground, dead, some minutes past 12 pm near a vehicle on the 7th street a short distance from Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard. Police say this is the 2nd shooting within the same week in the area, and the 23rd this year. Emergency crew and the police were called to an early Sunday crash in which a vehicle hit two pedestrians at the B.C University’s Point Grey Campus. The crash involved a single vehicle, and happened along Northwest Marine Drive at around 1:45 in the morning, leading to the closure of several roads, police say. Alberta’s former chief medical officer has co-authored a letter to the current health minister, Jason Copping, urging the province to implement tighter health measures to help the health system coupe with the fourth wave.
