My amatuer record was 5-2. The reason i want to switch i took a year break at 17 fell into a anxiety depression state. I fell in love with combat sports. I barely turn 18 and im debating where i should go now i feel like i started boxing late even 14 is to late for me. Do i have no choice and switch to mma?

I have been on Boxing since February, I'm still flinching a lot. (I have already researched about some drills on the flinching issue, I will work on them).
So, I am thinking about complementing my Boxing with another martial art like Judo, BJJ, etc. for a while, but I'm still not sure, I'm also considering focusing only on boxing for some more months, and then adding another martial arts.
Due to grappling/wrestling martial arts not including straight punches and kicks, do you think it could help me overcome the flinching reflex faster?

I'm a purple belt in kajukenbo. I've had this odd bit of skin on my index knuckles for about a year and it's starting to mess with me. I've tried lotion yet I can still see the bone through my skin. I am sure it's not dry skin. It's getting to the point where it bleeds sometimes and itches insanely. Has anyone had this before and If so have you figured out any ways to stop it

I recently started kickboxing and a friend of mine is interested in Muay Thai but is not sure so, what's the difference in footwork, defence etc. I only know that Muay Thai allows the elbow unlike kickboxing
And if if matters, We are in the Netherlands

Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing good and enjoying their days. Like the title says I am about to go into a training regiment where I train Muay Thai and BJJ 6x a week. My schedule would be Monday-Saturday with Sunday as a rest day. I want to wake up at 4:00am and do some normal strength and conditioning workouts, go to work from 6:30am-3:00pm then BJJ from 4:30pm-5:30pm Muay Thai from 5:30pm-7:00pm. I was wondering who has done anything similar. what changes did you notice? Did you see improvement? What about your overall fitness? Im just very curious and would love to hear everyone’s opini ..read more
