hi all, i know this question is going to get a variety of answers, and might seem like a stupid question, but i'm just genuinely looking for some opinions on this so i hope i don't get flamed for this. i was raised roman catholic, and although i do think there are some forces in the universe that exist, i eventually stopped attending church as a teenager due to me not believing in "god" the way catholics do. now, as an adult, i have a several jewish friends, and i have learned a lot about judaism and am very interested in it. i still don't believe in a god, but i find the ideals and the ritua ..read more

How would religious people react to a real-life superhero?

Here's a hypothetical: One day, a man with Superman's powers comes out of nowhere and starts to fight crime. His powers don't appear to be generated by any technology, so no Iron Man suit or Batman gadgets. He has the whole package: flight, invulnerability to bullets, bombs, missiles, super-strength, super-speed (faster than a speeding locomotive). And he uses them only for good. He stops criminals without harming them, respects the police, gets involved in the wars and is unstoppable on the battlefield, destroying all the weapons, until the nations are forced to agree on peace. The Muslims have mosques, the Christians have churches and Hindus have temples. Worshippers of these religons could also worship in their homes, but also have designated places of worship. What I'm asking is: Is there a religion or religions, that doesn't even have a place of worship at all? submitted by /u/Infamous_Acadia_4479 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone! , I am born into a catholic family and I have been looking into Islam for over 2 years and within that two years I haven’t been practicing Christianity especially catholicism because personally I have never felt a connection with god even though I went to church every Sunday, I don’t understand the teachings of Catholicism and when I tried to go to a different denomination it was a bad experience. Overall, and I don’t think the religion is for me. And with Islam, I haven’t practiced because I haven’t taken my shahada. I want to revert to Islam as over the two years the trials and ..read more

i attended a bible study once, i just got invited by my teacher and some of my classmates. it was very fun because i rarely socialize with other people and they were so nice, i even like someone there because he’s so kind and good-looking. i told my dad about the bible study thing, and he told me to not come because they have a different religion, they’re christian and we’re catholic. dad said he’s just recruiting me to join christian religion (if thats the word idk) i was supposed to go this saturday and i was excited because i get to see him again but turns out ?‍♀️ submitted by /u/ddeun_0 ..read more

Should I explore religion?

I don’t know how I should word that, but I’ve been struggling a lot since early 2022 and I haven’t been able to go to school, see my friends, or even leave the house since. I grew up going to church but stopped because I’ve never had a strong opinion on religion but now I think I want to explore it and see how i feel. I’m not looking for someone to tell me I’m not crazy for wanting to turn to religion, or it’s “whatever I’m most comfortable with”, but it’s a genuine question… should i try to explore religion? submitted by /u/Certain_Industry8960 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hermes Trismegistus in Islam?

I'm not a Muslim, but I've read that there are references to Hermes Trismegistus in Islamic scriptures and this caught my attention since he's a figure usually related to Paganism & Occultism. I'd like to know if those references exist and how is he considered in Islam. I'd be more than happy if you could give me some sources or any further reading, thanks. submitted by /u/faylefay [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
