Have you gone to church regularly as a kid, but not as frequent as an adult, but while still believing in God?

Maybe you had to go (but not forced) to church as a child because it was a family rule. But as an adult, you still went to church, just not as frequent, if you moved out but still believed in God. It made you feel more free. submitted by /u/3rdTymesADoozy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

If humans are not born without sin why do children even need to be discipled?

If humans are not born without sin why do children even need to be discipled? I hear different people say original sin is bad and humans are angels the day they were born and it is the environment that makes them evil. Why do children need to be taught morals at all if it's born in them? submitted by /u/andyh120d [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question about polytheism

When learning about religions I have always decidedly stayed away from polytheism because I believe that the universe is too balanced for there to be multiplie gods/divinities. It just seems like if there were a lot of them the world would be in constant conflict because they wouldn't be able to get along. So people who believe in a polytheistic religion, how do you explain this? I've been interested in polytheistic religions but this 1 question has been keeping me away from beliveing in multiple gods/divinities. submitted by /u/Stas_curious [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Fear of losing loved ones

My father passed away a few months ago and I’ve been in despair ever since. I used to pray(Muslim) and though God loved me. After my father’s passing, I experienced a spiritual whiplash. I do not know who God is. I only know the truth that I love my family (this includes my 2 dogs and a parrot). I wished life had more smiles but I went down this existentialist rabbit hole of who am I really? I want to pray again, but I feel like what’s the point. If I pray to God—congratulations, you might experience bliss after death. As if this current life isn’t grounded in suffering already. My question t ..read more

Religion as a coping mechanism never seemed more appealing at this point....

I've been an atheist for almost 20 years, but as I'm hitting 30 with dead-end jobs, rising costs and a general sense of hardship & loneliness after failing to stay in touch with friends who are no longer there or are simply too busy, I've been sinking deep into the idea of some powerful ''protector'' by my side sounds comforting for my brain which is on overdrive after analyzing everything down to the last detail everyday. It would be nice to have a little altar and just stare it for a few hours before mustering some courage to face another day... submitted by /u/ChrisTchaik [visit reddi ..read more

I talk to God, he talks back

So I was going to write a book, but read in a NYT article that you should try blogging first, so i'm trying it out. Here is my first post. Please check it out and let me know what you think of my idea of writing a book/blog based on a pluralistic/non-denominational relationship with God. One in which God talks back. Consequently, to help me brainstorm ideas, if you could ask God anything, what would you ask him? https://letterstogodandmore.wordpress.com/2023/05/28/how-do-i-know-youre-really-god/ submitted by /u/dragonflyradish [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
