The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Walsall opened the doors of the Baitul Muqeet Mosque on Vicarage Place on April 7 to invite people of all faiths and no faith to come and partake in the breaking of the fast. A breath-taking fundraising event is set to take place at Vicarage Road on June 1. Participants in Step Up for Health are invited to run, walk or climb their way up and down the stands – mimicking the height of the Empire State Building – to raise funds for charity. WHITEHILL Village Hall became a melting pot last Friday when a religious group held a dinner with a difference. The local Ahmadiyya Muslim community invited people from across the Bordon, Alton and Kingsley area to join them for a Ramadan Iftar dinner. More than 140 police and firefighters from Surrey Police, Sussex Police, Hampshire Police, and Surrey Fire and Rescue have fasted for a day to celebrate Ramadan. The Fasting Collective initiative, run by Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association UK (AMYA UK) on March 21, saw newcomers and returning participants engaging in the Islamic practice of fasting.
