During this visit Lama Jampa taught on both the East and West Coasts and also made his annual visit to Sakya Dolma Ling in Mexico. Both Dechen and Bodhi Path centers hosted Lama Jampa and Dechen Dolma at various stages of the tour. It was a very successful visit where Lama Jampa spent time with many different people and connections with other centers and lineages in the US were strengthened. We had a wonderful time at Sakya Buddhist Center Sunday morning celebrating Saga Dawa Duchen. The sangha and class regulars gathered to recite The Praise of the Twelve Deeds of the Buddha and The Sixteen Sthaviras practice. Adrian O Sullivan led the prayers and gave a brief and inspiring talk about the significance of this special day in the Buddhist calendar. Visit to Sakya Buddhist Center‘s Retreat Land!

Walking to the retreat cabin. On Sunday, members of Sakya Buddhist Center LA sangha drove up to the Los Padres Forest, about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, to visit the newly purchased Sakya Center retreat land for the first time.  Spacious interior of the retreat cabin! It was a wonderful day! The sangha did one session of Green Tara puja. On Saturday, at Sakya Buddhist Center, Lama Jampa gave his final day of teaching for this visit. He continued to teach from The Telescope of Wisdom, Karma Thinley Rinpoche's commentary on Nagarjuna's Letter to a Friend and bestowed the initiation of Manjushri Arapatsana. On Sunday morning Lama-la attended the morning practice of Chenrezik before departing for London with Dechen Dolma and Kate. Lama Jampa Thaye teaching at Sakya Samten Ling Lama Jampa has completed the first week of his American teaching visit. Over the weekend he continued to teach The Telescope of Wisdom, Karma Thinley Rinpche’s commentary on Nagarjuna’s Letter to a Friend and bestowed the initiation of White Mahalaka to sangha members of Sakya Samten Ling and dharma students from further afield. During the visit to LA, Lama Jampa and Dechen Dolma visited Tepusquet, the retreat land recently purchased by the Sakya Buddhist Center in the Central Coast. They were given a tour of the site of fifty acres of land in the Los Padres National Forest by sangha. Lama Jampa blessed the land and retreat cabin and led a Green Tara puja and prayers to the Sakya Protectors. He was very happy with the land and existing cabin as the foundation for future developments. On Wednesday October 19 Lama Jampa and Dechen Dolma arrived in Los Angeles for a two week visit, hosted by Sakya Samten Ling.  During his stay Lama Jampa had a busy schedule. He continued to teach The Telescope of Wisdom, Karma Thinley Rinpoche’s commentary on Nagarjuna’s Friendly Letter, and bestowed the initiations of Chenrezik Mahamudra and Green Tara from the lineage of Atisha.
