Hey guys, feel free to ignore, but for those of you who found Tiger King extremely frustrating to watch, this petition might be for you! Please share if you agree and lets try and get Netflix to create an actually fact based documentary that will try to help raise awareness about conservation efforts and talk about the animal welfare issues associated with captive big cats .... not just distract people with dramatised story lines ... again, if you're still reading this and are thinking - ugh, whatever J121J121J but did she kill her husband though? .... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Click here to sign the petitio ..read more

I'm a High School Senior in Miami, Florida, and soon to be Freshmen at Florida International University, in the Fall of 2020 to study Marine Biology. In the future, I intend to specialize in the study and conservation of threatened and endangered wildlife. I applied for my local zoo's Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program, for this summer, but it was canceled due to the global spread of COVID-19. I'm looking for ways to educate myself and get involved in wildlife conservation since I'm unable to volunteer/work at my local zoo by any means. I'm not sure what to do. I'm consideri ..read more

Hey guys, so I've chatted a teeny tiny bit with some of you. I've been researching some schools and possible futures and it's getting me excited. the one thing keeping me from getting excited is the tuition. holy jeez has it gone up. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any really good programs that are either affordable, or well worth the debt. On the other hand, is it even necessary to get a degree? submitted by /u/BumbardIII [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey guys! Wanted to share this episode from a podcast that I listen to about animal morphology. This week's episode explains how genetics research can help in worldwide conservation efforts, whether that means protecting an endangered species or attempting to restore an extinct one: https://hudsonalpha.org/can-genetics-save-wildlife/ submitted by /u/Margetta [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
