Hi all,
I am finishing up my associates degrees and about to embark in a certificate program to study for and take the PMP test. I am looking to take a part-time job during this next year where I am enrolled in the certificate program. I want to look into jobs that are related to project management but don't require experience. Do any of you have recommendations for job titles I should look into?
Thank you for your time!

I am a PM for an Managed IT Service Provider and I'm looking to automate/streamline my weekly status reports in some way. I'm using a fairly bare bones template right now but my new manager would like me to include the next +14 days of tasks. I've no problem with doing this by hand but right now I have almost 30 projects that I'm monitoring and so it takes me a few hours to get all of this done. I'd love to find a way to either do status reports through MSProject, which I have a license for, or if there is another PMIS which allows for status reports to be automated in some way and include up ..read more

Hi guys, im really lost here. I need a PM software with these features:
Budget and time per project: Add projects with time estimate and budget, where i can also allocate each team member's hourly cost.
Kanban views: lists and cards with team members assignment, time estimates per task.
Calendar with quarter / annual gantt or roadmap views to see the overview of my availability for the year. So i don't overbook my self with clients and miss to deliver in deadlines.
Bonus point for alerts in the UI on days that are overbooked or not booked enough.
Bonus point if it has functionalities for s ..read more

Hi all. I (23M) just got a job offer as a graduate Project Manager role which last 2 years in the Nuclear Energy Industry. I recognise that I am young, inexperienced and I know these next 2 years will be critical in my development.
I was wondering what certifications should I prioritise and what advice I should follow to really develop and become a great PM.
After the 2 years, I am unsure whether I’ll stay in the Nuclear Industry, I might want to transition to other Energy industries, or Environmental management (studied ecology at university) or maybe tech or engineering (i feel I need to go ..read more

I regret listening to them, but everyone in my company has mentioned how unnecessary the PMP is and that “as long as you have an understanding you’re fine without it.” No one in our PMO group has a PMP.
I should have stayed on course and kept on studying but I haven’t. I found this Reddit page and feel motivated to get back at it.
I have 10 years of HR PM work in the military and 1 year of on-hand systems configurations and security (for HR). Is the PMP worth getting if I want to shoot for a PM type role in corporate/government?
I would like your perspectives on what I should consider and if ..read more

Looking for words of wisdom for keeping sanity intact. On my second big project. The first project I worked with a consultant with industry knowledge who helped me navigate the chaos and keep priorities straight. They would share examples of how similar projects unfolded with other clients. Their perspective and insights were so valuable. This second time around it's a bigger project, less responsive software implementer, and (new) internal project leadership who underestimate risks and complexities of this project (and have no interest in engaging a consultant).
I'm swimming in the details a ..read more

Does anyone have a great resource to help refine capturing good notes on discussions, key takeaways and tasks? I don't mean software and I can't record meetings due to company policy. I type very fast and basically write a stream of consciousness of what people are discussing as they discuss, just not word for word. Then I review and capture high-level topic notes and decisions and tasks. However, my colleague took their own notes at our last meeting and had things on their list that I did not. I'm not sure if they imagined more from the context as they are an SME and I am not, or if I actual ..read more

I inherited a project at a new company I just joined. I am very confused by the calculated ROI.
Overall Project cost is $400,000 Estimated Revenue Gains is $0 Estimated Savings is $14,000/year
The ROI was stated as “Annual ROI of 3.5% with ROI duration of 3 years
THIS IS WRONG RIGHT??!
ROI should be -96.5% with expected Break Even (NOT ROI Duration) to be around 28.5 years.
