So I'll be preparing a whole, 14 lb turkey today. My oven has a steam roast feature, which I'll be trying for the first time. Most of the recipes I see online involve using a herb butter rub on the outside of the bird. That being said, some argue that simply using olive oil will yield a better skin. So talking with friends and other people on this sub, I’ve decided to do a “Maysgiving” as May is the halfway point between Thanksgivings. Not every store near me has Turkeys but one did and I got an 18.7lbs bird for just over $12 ? Friends who can’t/couldn’t come in November are coming in May and I’m pulling out all the stops.
