Will Our Relationship With Clothes Shopping Change After This?

All imagery in this post is by Sarah Ellen Photography. Shot on location in Shoreditch, London. This is one of the weirdest times in history. We are living through a global pandemic, something on a scale none of us ever thought was real I guess, until now. It’s been a bit of a ‘cultural reset’ as described by the media – to disagreement or not. Everyone has got their own opinions, their own views and their own ideals for how they’re both coping currently and coping going forward. But something I’ve been wondering a lot is the impact on our view of fashion, and whether it will in the long run ..read more

Realistic Ways To Be More Sustainable With Fashion

Sustainability is a buzzword at the moment. There’s been a few high profile documentaries and celebrities getting on board with it, and of course the spotlight has been on bloggers who in my opinion, rather unfairly got a lot of the blame for fast fashion and it’s popularity. That in itself is another topic for another time, but I think right now we’re all looking at ways to be more sustainable – which is really positive. What I think has been a bit more difficult is knowing how without breaking the bank, and totally overhauling your life. Look, no one really is to blame here, the culture jus ..read more

Don’t Bankrupt Yourself Following Influencers

I never ever want to patronise you – you’re smart, I know that – but sometimes I do worry that maybe even the extreme obvious isn’t being said. You’ve seen the title of this post and probably thought – okay, well obviously Zoe – but let me elaborate. You know back when blogging started to become more of a thing than just a livejournal diary of the people that upset you at school, and more of a business, I felt a lot of pressure to keep up with the latest stuff. When you’ve got people – richer than you – constantly talking about this amazing new thing that’s changed their life, I mean, I wante ..read more

Staying Productive In Cold Weather

Look, we’re British ok. We don’t like it too hot – ooh you know what I mean, above 30 they say it’ll be oh my that’s too hot – and we certainly don’t like it too cold. Our capital city is equipped for neither. The tube is always roasting, the heating often breaks and we never have adequate warm conditions. It’s just a bit of an all round fail isn’t it? I think when the dark nights and the bitter cold mornings seep in at this time of year, it’s always Feb that the snow hits, it can be so hard to stay productive and happy in whatever job it is you do. I tried a totally different approach this y ..read more

New Year, Same Old Me

I am both afraid and excited by a new year. The idea of a new page, a new turning in the book. It just all seems so cliche doesn’t it? And what happens if you don’t feel like turning a new page but you have to? Well, there isn’t much you can do. I’ve not always been one for grand new changes on a new year, but I do think there’s something in the idea of another chance. Sure, it’s not another chance at things that have already passed, but with every twenty-four hour passing and every new day we wake up to there is always more chances. Chances to find a job if you’re currently out of work. Chan ..read more

Is Blogging Dead?
Zoe London - fashion

Photography: Kaye Ford | Words: Zoe London Dissecting the latest blogging buzzword phrase…’the death of blogging.’ Everywhere I look on social media at the moment I see more and more think pieces about whether or not blogging as we know it has died a death. Well, today I’m adding to that tidal wave with my own two cents. First up, let’s ask a sub-question to that current question and ask – Zoe, is your blog dead? No. It’s not. Currently? Yes, it’s been embarrassingly quiet. But dead? Hell no. I took most of July (ok and a lot of June) off from blogging, and you can probably see that my last p ..read more

Stylish Comfort Dressing

Photography & 35mm: Kaye Ford | Words: Zoe London I’m a big advocate in stylish clothes that look good, but feel like pyjamas. I have to admit, despite falling back in love with jeans again lately after a six month temporary separation, I’m still obsessed with the comfort trouser. When I was younger and getting to grips with style and my own personal style, I could never really see much of a place for me and the humble trouser, almost always opting for a jean or skirt and never really looking outside it. I’ve been wearing and loving culottes for a few years now, and I can’t rave about the ..read more

Modern Romance

Photography: Kaye Ford | Words: Zoe London Romance and love is a totally new ball game in 2018 and I reflect on five years with the man i’m about to marry. I don’t wanna be cliche at all, I really don’t. And I didn’t genuinely look at George the first time I laid eyes on him and go ‘i’m gonna marry this man’ but it did become very apparent to me even after a couple times of meeting George that he would really be in this for life, and so would I. Knowing you’re about to get married is a really strange – exciting – but strange feeling. I think as products of the generation before us, who were s ..read more

Making The Leap from Hobby Blogging to Full Time Blogging

Photography: Joe Galvin | Words: Zoe London   Honestly one of the questions I get asked the most is “when did you know to take your blog full time?” Let’s answer that today. First up, I do think this is super personal for everyone because not everyone comes from the same background and circumstances, but I know I can safely talk about my experience. I’ve just recently celebrated eight years blogging – eight years, where on earth has the time gone? – and i’m by no means an authority on the subject, but I am fairly experienced in this side of things. There’s a few factors to consider when ..read more

Empowered Women, Empower Women

Photography: Kaye Ford | Words: Zoe London   I think you’d be surprised to know you’re already more empowered than you think. Here’s to you, and to us. It’s been so amazing to see women all over the world stand up and say Times Up to those who’ve abused them, and let them control them for years. To make a stand and make a wave of impact felt all across the globe has not gone unnoticed by men, and I think even though we have so far still to come – time is changing to be a woman. I wanna talk a little bit today about being an empowered woman, what that means to me and how easy it is to spr ..read more
