Hi all. I am a 20 year old Male turning 21 in about 2 weeks. Little back story: I have 4 1/2 years of retail experience with 1 1/2 years of retail management. I have gained a lot of knowledge based on home improvement from that job. Towards the end I found it dull and needed a get out and tried to change it up. So I applied to a warehouse and landed a job with great benefits and pay. I currently have been there for almost a year now and make $25.75/hr with 401k 5% match along with an end of the year personal bonus and profit sharing (looking around $10.5k gross combined.) Problem is I am abso ..read more

I am 43 and I never received a degree and I am considering it now. I do not want to continue in the same exact field that I have worked for the past 25 years which is dental insurance/front desk etc. The pay is horrible and I have to work multiple side jobs just to survive these days and I am tired. I just want one job that pays well. ANY ADVICE on what I could get a degree in BUT have my 25 years experience become helpful. I must add I ONLY want to work from home as that's what I have been virtually doing for the past 5 years. I was thinking tech would be great but I do not see how a dental ..read more

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good career or job option that would not require school or take up a ton of my time while still making a decent amount of money. I am trying to find something that I can possibly do from home? I thought about video editing, but I am not sure what else or really how to get started with that. I just want to still have a good amount of free time, but also money lol. Any help is greatly apperciated!! submitted by /u/chewybean555 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm 24 and a fairly recent college graduate. I was working an engineering job but for various reasons I decided to quit back in September (didn't like the management, the location, etc). I've been applying around since then and had a few interviews, but most applications don't lead to any replies at all or just lead to a generic "we're not looking to fill this position anymore"-type response. The interview processes I have been through have ended in them saying they found someone more experienced. I have another interview coming up in a week or so, but I'm worried about what will happen (or w ..read more

I’m stuck: take a job in an industry I love/unsure about location vs staying with a well paying job in an area I hate until something new comes?

I have a dilemma: I (M23) got a job offer in an industry I love (fitness tech) but it pays 5K less than my current job and I’m unsure about the location (Kansas) I’m in consulting right now and I dislike it as well as the location, but am afraid that I might be making a mistake if I jump to the new job. The job location that is in fitness tech is in Kansas, but I’ve always been a nature guy and want to move to Colorado in the future. My question is: should I take the job that I love, but not the location or should I stay with my current job until a better offer comes along in a location I lik ..read more

I am currently working remotely in a job, and while it has been a decent experience, I feel that I am not learning as much as I could be. Additionally, the remote work has been getting to me. As an already not so social person, it has been very isolating and hard on my mental health. I have been hoping to move to a different, in-person job, which might teach me more and help more with career progression. However, I recently learned that my boss will be taking a leave of absence early next year, and expects me to cover for him. I feel that, if I stay, this will be a good opportunity to prove m ..read more

Hey y’all! I am struggling a little with choosing what to do for my next year as a teacher. I have the opportunity to A) stay in American and teach B) go to Australia and teach (make more money) C) go to England to teach (make less money). Of course the more/less money is just based on what I’m making now in America - it doesn’t reflect the COL in either country so that isn’t a huge deciding factor (other than whether or not I can afford to live there). What I’m struggling with is how to make the decision. I have always wanted to travel and explore the world but I thought when the opportunity ..read more

What are my options for new career?

Hi all, I am a 30(m) looking for a fresh start of career. Problem is I never actually completed any program after high school. My strengths include simple math, generally good with my hands, love technology and cars. I had the idea recently to become a mechanic but I do not think it would be wise as I have read that being a mechanic is relatively tough on the body, which I kind of want to avoid. Any advice would be appreciated, all my current work experience is in warehousing which I see now has no future unless I pursue something to give me a little more education wise. submitted by /u/Star ..read more
