I raised two boys in India to adulthood (26 & 27 years of age). I was not allowed to adopt them when living in India because I'm a white American. I'm now 77 years old and need them to be in America with me. They have had my name since ages 10 and 11, are my heirs, and dozens of people know them only by the names I gave them, and that I am their dad. There would be no Indian contest to adopting them now, and we need that family identification we have enjoyed without any specific government paperwork. They do have Indian Passports in my given names. They cannot be identified by caste with ..read more

I’m just starting the research for international adoption. Wed like to adopt from a country with the most need where babies/children are ‘true’ orphans without any family. Any recommendations on agencies and countries?

Lost Kazakh Teen

Hey everyone, I was adopted from Kazakhstan and I now live in America with the best parents in the WORLD! I love my life endlessly, but sometimes I feel so alone because I feel so lost :(. I am the only Kazakh I know, I get no representation in America at all and that feels really isolating to feel like I am the only one. I know plenty of other adoptees, but they are from countries that are common, like Russia, Guatemala, and China. I live in a tiny town in New England so I am very not in touch with my native culture, along with also America not recognizing my culture :/. It's hard mentally ..read more

My husband and I have always wanted a big family and both of us have always imagined ourselves with biological and adopted children. Although we have been together for 10 years, we have just begun our journey to parenthood. However, we have been trying to conceive a child for almost two years now, and after a miscarriage and a few treatment of femara, we have decided to put conceiving on hold (maybe for now, maybe forever). We always thought that having a biological child would be the first step to our family planning, but, we both feel strongly about becoming parents and it never truly matte ..read more

Where To Start?

Hey y’all, My husband and I have recently discovered that neither of us are able to conceive a child. We believe blood doesn’t make a parent, so we certainly want to adopt, but honestly, we have no idea where to start. We’ve spoken to a few friends who have adopted internationally, which is what we think we’d like to do as we’ve heard you can no longer do closed adoptions in America, but our friends haven’t really been able to give us resources of where to start. Where do we even begin? What resources can we turn to? What agencies are reputable to go through? We’ve really no idea where to loo ..read more

My hubby is first generation Filipino and we live in the US where we are both citizens now. We both want to adopt a sibling set of 3+ kids from the Philippines are are terrified about funding. We'll have four bios by the time were ready to adopt and have always planned a big family, this just made sense. How can we ever afford to pay for these fees? Upwards of 50,000 is so much money. Help? Other advice welcomed. submitted by /u/Cyclon3T4mer [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi Everyone. My husband and I are seriously considering international adoption. Right now we’re looking specifically at Ukraine, Poland and India. Anyone have experiences with adopting from these countries that they’d like to share? Also, how was your experience with your adoption facilitator? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, if you had a great experience with a different country, please share. We’re open. Thanks so much! submitted by /u/snails1014 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
