I don't think there is a more beautiful view to wake up to on a Sunday morning than this amazing sunrise coming up over the lake right into our bedroom. Breathtaking~ We started our CNY with a happy mail day for EC, HM, & CA from their sweet Leggio pen pals. Even Leighton was happy about it~ We have enjoyed the format of our read-aloud, Esperanza Rising. Each chapter is titled with a kind of food; one was Papyas, so we ordered one and had a tasting party. It was SO fun, and you can see the verdict of whether they liked it~ LOVE these sweet photos of our Fleeman babies~ On the morni ..read more

Being together is the best! My sister and family didn't get to come home for Christmas, so we were thrilled when they came for a long weekend and we could all eat dinner for a couple of evenings, The kids loved being with their cousins, and we adults loved making dinner! It is always the best to catch up, laugh, and just hang out. Mama even came for a little while, too~ Our new friends, Hector and Michelle,  moved into the new house that Scott built them right before Christmas, and they invited us for dinner. I'm NOT kidding when I say they made THE BEST tacos I have ever eaten. S ..read more

2023~ Here We Come~

Every year I contemplate my intention for the year expressed in one word or phrase. I've really struggled with what to focus on this year, actually delaying starting the blog. Then I heard a sermon by Louie Giglio about our mindset and the emphasis of thinking about a whole year when today is what we are given. He challenged us to align our priorities with our purpose of making God known. What a powerful thought. The scripture he read was Col. 3:1-4:  Living as Those Made Alive in Christ 3 Sinc,e then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Chri ..read more

In the last couple of weeks before Christmas, we turned in and enjoyed quiet days waiting for Christmas. I can't think of anything more wonderful than waking each morning, making my coffee, and opening my Bible in the glimmer and glow of our beautiful tree~ It is always so wonderful to celebrate my mom's (Memommy) birthday each December. She came to our house with Addie and Slate, and we surprised her with a little party. I LOVED the cards the kids made for her. Happy birthday Mama! You're the best ever~ We were SO happy Rosie and Leighton were here too, and she took a pic of us... practic ..read more

We were asked in June if we might think about hosting the Hartwell Service League to show our house for the Christmas Tour of Homes, and we accepted. We knew we had to choose many new things for our new home to showcase Scott's workmanship, so we decided the time was now. We started decorating right after Halloween, so we were pretty ready once it was announced in the Hartwell Sun~ Even with all the extra of getting things ready for the tour and keeping sweet Leighton, we kept the learning going with excellent Christmas school and Read Aloud Revival~ Scott and I have date night every ..read more

November 1st always means, 'It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas'. This year is no different, although we are in a different place. It has been so fun figuring out where all our old things will go~ We enjoyed this excellent art project from Yellow Spot Sun, and we finished listening to The Wednesday Wars (which we loved but has some hard themes so please preview!)~ The kids have been enjoying youth worship on Wednesday nights and starting to make friends... just look at CA's smile and she's not even supposed to be there but there she is... fitting right in~ OH my goodness, the Dov ..read more

How can it be October? I SO love this month. We are seeing so much change in the weather, temperature, and leaves. We love October the most because it is usually when we go to the beach, and we did this one... pics, coming soon... A couple of my favorite things lately... Mimi cut the beautiful pampas grass beside the front door, and I bought a digital frame which has brought us SO much joy seeing all the sweet faces appear all day long~ Now that fall is in the air, we gathered around the fire pit to roast hotdogs and s'mores. Pretty cool that the kids are getting old enough to do the w ..read more

We had SO much together time this summer having Savannah's family living with us! It indeed was such a gift we won't soon forget! Even when we weren't, many photos were taken, and memories were made. We spent SO much time out on our porch~ We took rides in the boat for breakfast by the lake~ Josh was visiting his brother's family in Norway for the week. It was so wonderful to pull into our cove and see the progress on our community dock, which is coming along~ It will be wonderful when we can park our boat here~ Tuesday evening was Mom's Club night out, and we didn't even get a group p ..read more
