I use BWI and enjoy it. Wondering, what are the competing platforms like this, and how do they rank vs BWI?

So we have our photo day coming up for our studio. The studio noted that we should be coming in with makeup done specifically blue eyeshadow and red lips.
Someone mentioned something about lighting being the reason why?? Anyway can you share if this is the norm? And if so or if not, why blue and red???
Thanks in advance friends ?

I'm searching for something similar to this - I like the capped sleeves, the v front and the highish back, I also like how high it is under the armpits. This seems to be sold out in my size everywhere... Seen anything similar to this, preferably in a solid black?

my performance is in around 2 weeks, and we usually have some guest dancers from small companies come to perform with us. however, three out of the four of them who were supposed to be in the show dropped out due to injuries, other commitments etc. two of them (men), had smaller but still significant parts of the ballet, but both dropped out. ive been cast in that part with one of my friends and i never got the chance to learn it (they never rehearsed it while all the students were there, & it’s typically a male role so i wasn’t expecting to have to do it) except for the one time i ran on ..read more

Hi All,
Does anyone pay for the Ballet With Isabella platform? I like her YouTube content but I'm not sure if paying is worth it. I'm looking for floor barre classes mostly.

I'm going to see Swan Lake next month and it's the first time I've ever been to the ballet! I took ballet lessons as a kid, but was never very athletically inclined, and didn't enjoy it much (i also had unmanaged ADHD). As an adult I've daydreamt about taking adult classes or starting off with pilates, but haven't yet! I think I'd be more disciplined and enjoy it alot more. In any case, I'm seeing a ballet for the first time in my life and I just couldn't be more excited, Tchaikovsky is also my favorite composer and the pieces in Swan Lake are my most favorite classical pieces. I'm just so ex ..read more

Hi everyone!
I am curious is anyone knows about any ballet summer intensive programs for adults. Ideally, I'd love to take the opportunity to travel to a new country. I am from New York, USA but I would be interested in doing a summer intensive in Russia.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you!

I'm returning to pointe after a bad ankle injury. I've started dancing on pointe again 4 months ago and just went through my first pair of pointe shoes after returning. I was using russian pointes (brise), however I cant seem to get a hold of the same pair. I ve had some issues with it being a bit too tappered but i generally liked the shoe (i thought to try a few different styles that are more square since that was a problem). I went for a couple of fittings yesterday and Im torn between which shoe i should choose. In the first picture Im in the bloch lisse balance (enhanced arch) and in the ..read more
