The Begeman Family: Then and Now Throughout our 29 years of ministry serving families and vulnerable children around the world, we have had the joy of linking arms with many incredible families and guiding them through the adoption process. However, we don’t always have the honor and privilege of partnering with the same family on each of their five separate adoptions.  Today, we’d like to introduce you to the Begeman family, who adopted their children through America World’s China program. Maria Begeman shares with us how their family has celebrated Chinese New Year over the years and ..read more

America World Adoption
by Debby DeRosa

By Aimee Wilson, Program Director As we shared in a recent Haiti update, due to political unrest, increased violence, and economic crisis creating supply and food shortages, the people of Haiti are facing unimaginable hardships. While the needs can feel overwhelming, we ask God to open doors and present specific opportunities to bless children in need. Through your donations, we can meet tangible needs for boys and girls living in desperate poverty. In December, we had the privilege of providing an orphanage with many useful items, including cookware, bowls, cups, utensils, and clothing, as w ..read more

America World Adoption
by Debby DeRosa

By Leah Rockey Does integrating a new culture into your family ever feel overwhelming? Perhaps during your home study or even after you arrived home with your child, you thought, “How can I practically integrate my child’s culture into our family?” I have received this question many times over the years, and I often share with families that one of the first and most natural places to start is with holidays. For our family, Chinese New Year has always marked an exciting time of the year, not only because our children love learning about China, but also because our first adoption was finalized ..read more

An Update on the Hale Family In 2021, we told the story of Martin and Emily in our blog. They started the adoption process with us in 2016 after being married for six years and finding themselves unsuccessful at starting a family. “We chose AWAA because, as Christians, we wanted to use an agency that believed the same way we did,” said Emily. They set their sights on India due to the great need for children to be adopted there. They specifically chose to adopt girls, as historically, girls/women are not given many opportunities in many parts of the world, including parts of India. God confirme ..read more

America World Adoption
by Debby DeRosa
1M ago
By Jennifer Knight, Ohio Director of Social Services & Post Adoption Program Director For many years, America World has felt burdened to support adoptive children and their families after the adoption process has ended, and any survey of our families has validated this desire. However, we haven’t had the staffing and resources to execute these services. But we know God can make a way when we don’t see one. After much prayer on our part, God finally aligned the need, passion, and bandwidth to make late 2021 the right time to begin focusing on this essential program. Equipped and Passionate ..read more

What’s Happening in Haiti?
America World Adoption
by Debby DeRosa
1M ago
By Aimee Wilson, Program Director America World has had the privilege of serving in Haiti for many years. We consider it a great honor to partner with adoptive families as they walk through the adoption process, pursuing the needed approvals, gathering paperwork, and preparing their hearts and homes to bring a child or children into their family. Our heart is to see every child placed in a loving, Christian family. While we dedicate resources, time, and effort to see this process through, we recognize that many children are waiting and likely will not have the opportunity to be adopted. Ultim ..read more
