Sticky notes, sticky notes everywhere. If you can’t remember a grammar rule or a word/structure, use sticky notes.
Study daily, even if it’s for 5 min or less.
Learn the first 100-300 most common words, they are like everywhere.
Duolingo, Memrise and Forvo are the holy trinity for every language learner; everyone uses them at some point.

If you know already all Spanish tenses including the subjunctive, I think one of the main things you can do to strengthen your Spanish is to learn the Guatemalan slang, which they call it “chapinismo”.
Honestly, I don’t know much about chapinismo. I watched a video about the difference between Mexican and Guatemalan slang, and omg! it’s so different.

Read! Go to your local library, a pdf on a book, or anything and see if you find some books with easy short texts like children's books or poems and practice reading them out loud, understanding and translate them.
Watch movies or series in that language. This will be good in understanding people talking that language, also it can help on pronunciation and maybe you find some ..read more

Pascua– Easter
la resurrección– the resurrection
el enterramiento– the burial
la misa– mass
Even though I was raised Catholic and am familiar with a lot of the traditions and meanings behind the holiday in the United States, Easter in Costa Rica (or more importantly, the week leading up to Easter) was a big surprise to ..read more
