Should I glue the bottom of this carcass to hold square or let it float with some brad nails?

I know I've asked the community alot of stupid questions and I have learned a ton from you guys, I appreciate all the advice I've received so far. I'm making a large drawer for my cleat wall the bottom of the carcass will sit in this dado and top on the rabbet. No face frame I'll just use the drawer face to cover the front. I'm trying to figure out if I should glue the tops and bottom or fasten them instead. I'll have 2 routers sit on top and the drawer is for accessories like my fence and circle jig, wrench etc. submitted by /u/Beastysymptoms [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm working on my wood carving and have dealt with narrow spaces when it comes to sanding. I have a lot (a LOT) of carving marks that need to be sanded/smoothed/eradicated and not sure how best to approach this. Card scraper? Sand paper and invite patience? submitted by /u/Samon8ive [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Pine Nightmare!!

Hey guys! I am new to staining, woodworking, and anything of the sort! I stained this dresser that I believe is pine. I sanded everything 60 up to 220 grit, used pre-stain conditioner, and then stained with minwax gel stain. Huge white blotches were left (you can see this in the middle of the top), seemingly from a white was left behind that I needed to sand more. However, the sides of the drawers and some of the wood didn’t even take the stain. I tried saving it by going over it with gel stain but it turned out like this. I have stripped it using citristrip and am going to sand it back ..read more

Long story short. We bought a dining room table without chairs. It has potential to seat a lot of people. I didn’t want to buy some cheap chairs and a bench will cost an arm and leg. So I decided to make a 2 benches. We built, sanded, stained, and glossed for less than 200 bucks. It’s not much but I’m proud of it. May start tackling more wood projects and learn a few things. submitted by /u/ZacAttackks [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
