After a lot of careful consideration and collaboration with our board, instructors, and students we’ve honed a shorter program that we hope will improve the accessibility, quality, and functionality of our furniture intensives. The new Foundations of Woodworking program is now two twelve-week woodworking intensives, Foundations of Woodworking I and Foundations of Woodworking II, which we will offer twice a year. We’ve had lots of questions about volunteer opportunities at PTSW, so now's your chance! We'll gather on Friday, June 30 for an afternoon work party to do a deep clean of the Building 315 shop. Then we'll spend some time hanging out, getting to know each other and eating some pizza.
The work starts at 1 p.m., and more importantly, the play starts about 4. We'll try our hands at Kubb (a great lawn game that we're loving) and enjoy a variety of beverages. Bring your friends, and dress for wood shavings.
Let us know you're interested at info@ptwoodschool.org, and we'll send you more details. Th ..read more

It’s that time of year when we love to celebrate the culmination of not one but two of our intensive programs -- Foundations of Woodworking, with 10 graduates, and Traditions of Furniture, with 11.
Spending three months in the shop develops a lot of woodworking skills, and also some strong friendships. The good news is that we'll see a lot of these friendly faces in future classes. We can't wait to see what everyone's working on next!
If you're interested in future Intensives, check out these course descriptions. The deadline for applications for winter quarter 2024 intensives starting in J ..read more
