I give you an inside-out turning. Something that incorporates blue amber for no reason other than that it is interesting. This is this year’s Christmas ornament. This also has a Wand in it. Sometimes you have an idea stuck in your head. One of those was turning things from OSB, and after some moderate success with tea light holders (available in my Etsy shop, see below), I just had to make a wand. And while “wand from OSB” sounds like an interesting idea, the execution required me to make wooden dowels and a steady rest for my lathe. The Pythagorean Goblet, big brother to the more infamous Pythagorean Cup (but really the same thing) is an item that both demonstrated the siphon effect as well as the user’s propensity for practical jokes. Though frankly, I doubt it would actually be effective as one because the concept is pretty well known by now and the knob in the center is a dead giveaway that something fishy is going on. I made this coin flask for a friend – and in a hurry. I hope it does not show on the finished product, but there are a couple of things that I would have done differently if I had thought I had more time. Christmas is a great time for making things. So what better reason to introduce my oldest daughter to the lathe in this newest Adventure in the Workshop?
