Looking for some advice. Coming from UK/NZ I'll be in California in July to do some backpacking with my other half. We are looking to do a 6/7 day hike in Sequoia/Kings from lodgepole taking in some mountains/lakes and some high sierra trail.
And then some 2/3 days in some further out Yosemite NP trails.
What passes/permits are needed for this? The government websites aren't helping too much!

I’m looking to order some cheap hiking pants for a short trip coming up. I don’t have time to run out and get new ones so I’m hoping I can get some from Amazon in the meantime. I typically wear a 40x30 or 42x30 depending on the pants

I’ve had a few pairs of X ultra 3 mids over the years and have absolutely loved them. No hotspots or blisters from day one, straight out of the box. I’ve taken them on 20 and 30 mile days with no issues at all. They have just been perfect for my feet. After putting a hole in my last pair, I figured it would make sense to just get a pair of the 4’s so I did. On anything decently steep, my heels get destroyed. There’s minimal padding on the back of the heel and it just shreds up my skin. Any suggestions on how to remedy this or any alternatives that fit a similar foot that loves Salomons?
