This is ABT 12 from St. Bernardus Brewery. This is the last out of their mixed six-pack. This is a quadruple, coming in at 10% ABV. This beer would be great with rich beef dishes. I suggest a good pastrami or corned beef/Rubin sandwich. You can also pair this with blue cheese/Roquefort. This ABT 12 would be an unexpected pleasure with some chocolate. This quad beer pours a deep brown/burgundy color with a two-finger beige head. The aroma is of dark fruits like raisins, dates, and plums. There are sweetness and malt aromas. The taste is of plums, dates, and raisins. The flavor is strong, sweet ..read more

Flights are a great way to sample a variety of different beers whether you are at a brewery or in a bar. You should always sample left to right as if you were reading. Lightest in color/ alcohol by volume (ABV) to darkest in color/ABV. Having a flight is a great way to train your palate for tasting. I had Fonta Flora Pocket Lunch, Rhino Market A Very Rhino IPA, Foothills Brewing Happyum Imperial IPA, and Font Flora Wolf Spit Baltic-Style Porter. Go check out all the reviews on this blog. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers ..read more

This beer, Pater Six, is an Abby Dubble from St. Bernardus and is another in their mixed six-pack. This beer is 6.7% ABV. This recipe dates back to 1946. This beer pours a chestnut brown with a two-finger light beige head. The aroma is lightly nutty, sweet, malty, and overall light. The flavor is sweet and dark, malty, and smooth. Then this beer finishes with a light malt flavor and some sweetness. The light sweetness carries over into the aftertaste with some malt characteristics. This beer has a light overall flavor, and that gives it an A. I think Chimay dubble is slightly better than this ..read more

This St. Bernardus Extra 4 is a Enkel/Patersbier. This is a single or lightest beer from St. Bernardus. I saw this also to be known as a Belgian Pale Ale. This beer is 4.8% ABV. This particular beer pours a yellow color with a one-and-a-half-finger bright white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, with cloves, spices, and light pepper. The flavor is citrus fruits, spices (coriander and pepper), dry, light cloves, and also light on the hops. This one h ..read more

Birdsong Brewing Co. Jalapeño Pale Ale
The Best Beer Blog

I have had Jalapeño Pale Ale from Birdsong Brewing Co. many times. I haven’t reviewed this beer. I really can’t believe that. This pale ale is brewed with jalapeños that have most of the seed removed. The seed of the jalapeño is where the capsaicin or the heat is. The idea behind removing the jalapeño seed is to give very little to no heat and more of a vegetal flavor. This pale ale pours a deep yellow with a two-finger white head. The aroma is vegetal, bitter, and jalapeño spice. The flavor is a jalapeño vegetal spice/heat, bitterness, and a faint hop flavor. The feeling is light in the mout ..read more

This beer is by Edmunds Oast Brewing Co. in Charleston, South Carolina. This beer comes in at 5.5% ABV and has almonds, vanilla, Lactose, and coconut. This ale pours yellow with a two-finger steady head. The aroma is vanilla-sweet and nutty. The flavor is also vanilla, coconut, and smooth. The flavor of this beer is nutty but slightly nuttier than its aroma. This beer feels light on the mouth. Then you come to a finish of sweet vanilla ..read more
